Many of my JB friends and readers who are fans of Tasek kway teow kia are adament that this is simply the best kway teow kia stall in JB. They are the ones whom when asked where is the best kway teow kia in JB, will answer instantly "Taman Tasek!" with an exclaimation mark!

I tried Tasek kway teow kia yesterday and sure enough joined its fans - I liked it very much too. The feel of the taste and flavours was delicate, understated, subtle, mild, and gentle on the taste buds  -  classy, lah. And all these delicious food for RM31.

At Taman Tasek Kway Teow Kia, the different innards are braised separately in a different pot, so we can taste the unique flavour and texture of each type of innards. (The average stalls simply dump everything into just one large pot and every part tastes pretty much the same as any other.)

Let's take a closer look at a sampling of what we ate.

The pork intestines were thoroughly and perfectly cleaned, and beautifully braised till smooth, soft yet still retaining that gentle spring.

The braised pig's skin was soft and smooth like baby's skin, I dare say.

Excellent soft preserved vegetable in braising sauce. That lovely herbal taste with a nice balance of subtly savoury and sweet.

Tasty soft, porous tofu that sponged up loads of flavourful braising sauce.

Fried-then-braised chicken feet that is lightly coloured and subtly herbal.

The kway teow kia in a tasty, clear, drinkable mildly herbal broth perfumed with aromatic shallot oil and bits of fried shallot crackles.

The kway teow kia is smooth, tender and complements the pork innards perfectly. I had two bowls of this :D

Look who visited Taman Tasek kway teow kia. Tasek KTK was one of the JB hawkers featured on the NTV7's, 13 part TV series "Foodie Blogger 爱食客" hosted by award winning artiste Coby Chong 庄可比. The premiere episode featuring Johor hawkers was televised nationwide on NTV7 on 17 Mar 2013.

Guo Tiau Zi 果条仔 Tasek is definitely a Must Try for kway teow kia (kway chap) lovers.

And, I need to go back for these braised eggs which I somehow missed.

    1. Hey, I tried this kway teow kia place last weekend. To each his own. I would like to suggest this other place in Johor Jaya. It was showcased in the local show Ho Chiak. Give it a try and let us know your thoughts. It's just next to the Caltex station.

    1. Yes, it is very good value. No too far from Causeway. It takes about 10 minutes by car (when the road is clear).

  3. I ate at Taman Tasek since small.. We used to live at that area. Usually weekend morning after exercise will walk to the stall for breakfast. To me, this is the best.^
