Our pioneers created such foods only because it was what they knew. Today's kids don't necessarily want to eat such foods but that doesn't mean the new generation of entrepreneurs who run cafes to serve them lattes, sandwiches and exotic ice creams aren't hawkers. They may not run a stall in a hawker centre, but like the pioneers before them, such youngsters are also entrepreneurs in the food business.
