Recently, I had been featuring Kim Ling 金岭 coffee shop because I like the variety and quality of the many hawker stalls there. Readers suggested that I also try 聯姐 kway teow kia stall at Kim Ling 金岭.
I am glad that I made a trip to Kim Ling this morning on my readers' suggestion. 聯姐 kway teow kia is very good, indeed.
There are many things that I like about 聯姐 kway teow kia stall.
First of all, I like the the ordering system here - it is simple and transparent. The different cuts of pork offal, meat and types of additional ingredients like braised eggs and fried tofu skin are all displayed at the front. The customer just picks the pieces that s/he likes and knows exactly how much s/he has to pay. Great system!
The fried tofu skin is very popular as it soaks up the braising sauce like a sponge. This is delicious as it stays crunchy even when saturated with braising sauce.
Intestines are staples at kway teow kia stalls. At 聯姐, the delicious intestines are thoroughly cleaned.
Pork tongue, my favourite. 聯姐's sweet pork tongue has a certain crunchiness that made it the best that I've tasted.
Soft, tender and tasty braised pig's skin.
Crunchy braised pork ears.
Braised tofu, the favourite of many.
All the customers' orders get a hot dip in the boiling braising sauce before serving.
Other "normal" people's orders.
I was a little greedy, threw caution to the wind, and just gleefully picked a mix of things I liked. Hahaha..., the food arrived in a heap which I had to finish by myself. Fortunately, that wasn't too hard as everything was delicious J.
聯姐 is highly recommended for kway teow kia (kway chap) lovers.
