Stumbled upon this little wanton mee stall at Jalan Beladau 15 in Taman Puteri Wangsa. If you are in the area which is bustling with numerous eateries, this wanton mee stall is worth a try.

如果你在 Puteri Wangsa,可以试试旺旺美食中心的荣记雲吞面摊。 全蛋面弹性,酱有猪油,鸡爪, 叉烧和云吞都做得好猪肉咖喱面也不错。分量大, 价格公道了。Jalan Beladau 15.

Andrew, the stall holder was extremely busy. Watching him, Andrew handles that wire mesh ladle with great speed and skill.

We ordered this egg noodle with braised chicken feet (RM4.50) to taste :-D

Andrew cooked the generic egg noodle to soft al dente. As I tossed the egg noodles in the blend of lard and dark soy sauce, I could smell the lard aroma. The strands of egg noodles wet with the lard and soy sauce blend was slurpy delicious.

The plate comes with four large braised chicken feet which were wrinkly soft and falls off the bones like loose wet socks. The soft skin tasted mildly herbal and savoury sweet.

The noodles come with a small bowl of clear anchovy soup with wantons inside - I didn't count them but there was at least 4 or 5.

The thumb size knob of soft minced pork was sweet with old school sesame flavour.

Happy with the noodles with chicken feet, we next ordered the noodles with char siew for RM4.50.

We were rather surprised by the huge pile of char siew on top of the mound of noodles. There were lots of choy sum greens too.

The char siew which Andrew makes himself was sliced thin and had a good layer of fat which I like. The char siew is the soft and sweet kind. It's lacks char but is still nice enough.

The same springy slurpy egg noodles smothered with wet slick lard and dark soy sauce after a good tossing.

The same bowl of soup choked full of wantons comes with the char siew noodles.

Andrew told us that we should also try his egg noodles in pork curry (but it was already sold out for the day).

We came back the next day and again all the pork curry was already gone. It's only on the third day, when we arrived early before 9:00am that we got a chance to try this pork curry noodles.

There were a lot of things inside this RM5 bowl - char siew, wantons and pork ribs with egg noodles at the bottom of the pool of fiery looking curry.

The pieces of pork tasted good but cut into cubes. I prefer ribs but at RM5, I think this is very generous already.

The curry is good - creamy rich heavy boded with spice flavours and a slightly sharp sting.

Andrew who is from Ipoh ran this stall at Puteri Wangsa's Mei Wang coffee shop for two years already. He had been selling wanton noodles at his own stall in Ipoh for a few years before coming to JB.

When I asked Andrew what is the name of his stall, he pointed me to a laminated card with the faded words "榮記".

👍 If you are in Puteri Wangsa, 榮記 is the wanton noodle stall to go for. The noodles are springy, the sauce is laced with lard, and the sides (chicken feet/ char siew and wantons) are generous. The pork curry noodles are good too.
