After hearing so many makan buddies raved about Wildfire Burgers @ NAFA, I was very curious to try it - finally had the chance today as we were nearby at Bugis Junction / National Library. We enjoyed the Wildfire burgers and also especially love their fried chicken.

Wildfire Burgers is simply furnished, minimalist industrial chic decor, and comfortable enough.

The menu of burgers, fried chicken and fries all on one page.

We had a Classic 001 Cheeseburger (left) and SRF Wagyu Burger. Just fitting snugly in my palm, t
hey were not big burgers. Going by the looks, it was hard to tell the burgers apart.

The double Black Angus beef patty was tender and very juicy. Its beefy sweetness was well complemented by cheese, pickled gherkin, caramelised onion, master sauce, and chipotle mayo.

The pillowy brioche bun is supposed to be rich with butter and eggs but in the mouth, the dominant flavours were beefy sweetness and toasty smokey taste of the caramelised onion.

I enjoyed this Classic 001 Cheeseburger.

We were not ask what doneness we like for our SRF Wagyu Burger and it was delivered nicely medium.

The wagyu burger was exactly the same as the Classic 001 Cheeseburger except for the patty which was made with Swift River Farm (Idaho, USA) wagyu beef. It was more tender and more juicy than the Black Angus beef patty. The taste was about the same level of beefiness but sweeter.

There was less caramelised onion, so there was less toasty smoky flavour. I am not sure if this is standard for Wildfire's wagyu burger or just an isolated inconsistency.

Otherwise, we also enjoyed this burger especially the more exquisite texture and flavour of wagyu.

Pro-tip: Always go for double patties as they are neither very thick nor dense.

The savoury sweet shoestring fries were tasty and I like their crisp, tender yet firm-chewy bite.

Fried chicken was a bonus surprise as I haven't heard buddies recommending it. The fried chicken made with fresh meat from grain fed, free range chicken was fried to a golden brown crisp outside.

The savoury subtly herby crispy shell was okay but we were wowed by the tender juicy meat inside. It was so tasty as the natural sweetness of fresh chicken was complemented by mild savoury flavours infused from the marination.

Pro-tip: Whatever burger you choose, get also their fried chicken ๐Ÿ˜„

In the fridge were a range of imported and locally brewed craft beers. The drinks we had cost around $12 - $15 a bottle.

We saw them baking burnt cheesecake and told ourselves to get some after finishing the burgers. But, we forgot and left without trying it ๐Ÿ˜‚
