Decker Barbecue's marvellous pork Rib Plate and Double Decker burger for day 13 dabao under
Covid 19 Heightened Alert.
Six pieces of five inch, fall-off-the-bone, juicy, full flavoured BBQ pork ribs for $34+, I feel it is good value.
The tender-soft meat fell off the bone like a thick heavy coat slipping off its hanger. Biting into the juicy meat released busts of infused savoury, tangy, and smokey hickory wood flavours along with the sweet taste of fresh pork. There's an overlay of mild heat from fragrant black pepper.
The depth of flavour and aroma is among the best Texas BBQ pork ribs that I have tasted in my memory. I spent a few months in Texas (Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio) in the early 1990s.
Menu says Double Decker Sandwich but it is an over endowed burger with sourdough buns that bursted its seams.
It's a wild, no holds barred stack of tender wagyu brisket, hot link sausage, slaw and jalapeΓ±os.
The taste is as crazy as it looks. The flavours are robust, savoury salty, beefy, with taste and smell of spices coming out strong from the sausage.
So much crunchy, juicy slaw adding sweet and sour taste to every mouthful.
Decker Kale Salad. Quite fibrous blanched kale topped with almond and parmesan cheese, dressed with sour vinegar.
I love this cornbread. Decker BBQ's rendition of this moist, firm-spongy southern USA icon is rich with butter and corn flavour and aroma plus a slight sweetness. Bits of embedded spice and herbs added interesting accents of flavours.
