I thought it would be a pretty straightforward dinner with my host Antonio at Tapas Club Orchard Central as part of #EatSpainDrinkSpain 2023.
It turned out to be a great party, all spontaneous fun - that's the spirit of Tapas Club and I believe Spain ๐
I was slightly ahead of appointed time, so I stopped outside to take photos. A cheerful staff stepped forward to find out what I needed, and urshered me to my table ๐ I felt the warmth and welcoming vibes instantly.
I was served a welcome drink, a Red Sangria right away - Tapas Club Classic Sangria, it is called.
Once Antonio, my host arrived, they got our dinner rolling.
First dish, the entrada or starter in Tapas Club's dinner menu for #EatSpainDrinkSpain 2023 was Wagyu Tartar with Anchovy Croquette.
For wine, we chose the Bodegas Taron Cepas Centenarias 2016. It's good to meet Jose whom I last met at Decker BBQ.
While we enjoyed our delicious food, a live band was belting out catchy familiar Spanish tunes. You will be surprised how many of our favourite songs are actually originally Spanish ๐ผ.
(Check Tapas Club's social media for their live music schedule.)
De Plato Principe or main course was Spanish Turbo Fillet with Tomato Butter Sauce.
It's a big thick chunky slab of fish, tender and sweet complemented by the gently savoury tomato and brown butter sauce. The bed of soft panadera potato was rich in savoury sweet flavours too.
People were spontaneously on their feet dancing to the music and having a great time.
El postre or dessert was Carrot Cake with Salted Caramel Ice Cream and toasted walnut.
Oh... I love Tapas Club's carrot cake which is made in-house. At my age, I am wary of sweet things but I ate this whole chunk of carrot cake myself ๐คญ
Made with organic fresh carrot, the cake was lusciously moist, the cream cheese was not overly sweet and just too irresistibly delicious ๐ฌ
The Wine Dinner Menu ends with the highly Instagrammable Santa Cruz de Alpera Frizzante Azul.
The blue colour is wholly organic, the result of blending red and white wines.
Besides the EatSpainDrinkSpain $88++ per pax Wine Dinner Menu at $88, we enjoyed a few additional dishes and wines ๐ฅ
Besides Spanish fare, Tapas Club menu now features dishes from Argentina and Mexico, so we have more choices.
Ham croquettes.
On the left is Jace Hong, Executive Chef leading Tapas Club's three outlets at Orchard Central, VivoCity and Jewel. Young, humble, open, full of energy and drive, hungry to be his best ๐ Jace will be keeping us hungry for Spanish fare for years to come ๐
Spanish Omelette.
Jamon Platter.
Pan Con Tomate.
Iberico Pork Collar.
Spicy Chicken Quesadilla.
Food is tasty, wine list is extensive, prices are reasonable, live music, nice ambiance, comfortable environment, friendly service, cheerful happy vibes at Tapas Club Orchard Central.
Shall be back and also try out Tapas Club outlets at VivoCity and Jewel.
