Been to Kai Duck twice for their signature Peking duck. Both times I enjoyed myself. The food was delicious and service was good. I look forward to be back.
A simple understated facade but Kai Duck is easy to locate as it is beside the fifth level escalator of the sprawling Ngee Ann City mall.
The interior is understatedly elegant and casual, so the atmosphere is relaxed and carefree.
Lots of cheerful banter, Kai Duck is a family and children friendly place. It looks and sounds like a casual Hong Kong tea house 茶餐厅.
Kai Duck is a duck specialist but I realised that their dim sum is good too 👍
Prices were within reasonable range in my humble opinion for the location and quality of food in today's context.
A whole Peking duck costed SGD68 when Kai Duck opened in 2019 😅
The golden brown skin was so crisp, it was like the birds were on parade wearing starched ironed brown coats.
港式烤片皮鸭 Signature Peking Duck.
Course one, Peking duck drumsticks and crispy duck skin.
A slice of crispy skin, fine slivers of leek, cucumber, a dollop of savoury sweet brown sauce, fold over with tissue thin crepe.
Enjoy!
Umami savouriness in layers with sweet duck gaminess and a subtle green taste of raw leek and cucumber wrapped with subtly savoury sweet, softly chewy crepe.
If you like some crackly crunch, you can add these subtly sweetish biscuits in your duck roll.
I just ate these biscuits by themselves like a snack 🤭 Nicer that way 😄
I like eating my roasted duck skin neat. Full blown duck skin crispness and umami savouriness, ducky gaminess with nothing coming between us 💪
I am bad. Just like, when I was a child, I like peanut butter neat, I like jam neat, kaya neat 🤭
鸭丝焖伊面 Braised Ee-fu Noodle with Shredded Duck Meat.
Second course for the Peking duck, remaining duck meat were shredded, stir fried and braised with soy sauce, noodles, beansprouts, vegetables, etc.

We all love it!
沙律片皮鸭手卷 Peking Duck Salad Hand Roll.
I always look forward to the crispy salad hand roll at Kai Duck 😁
Thick slices of tender juicy breast meat with fat and crispy skin, slathered with Kai Duck's signature creamy aromatic sesame sauce, thick stalks of crunchy cucumber in a crackly corn crisp "ice cream" cone.
So yummy!
Besides their signature Peking duck, Kai Duck serves delicious artisanal dim sum.
(They have other Cantonese restaurant dishes too in their extensive menu.)
披萨煎萝卜糕 Pan-fried Carrot Cake.
I am a carrot cake lover and I like Kai Duck's carrot cake.
Soft moist almost creamy sweet savoury white radish cake between crispy crepe. Fried toppings provided added sweet salty flavours and crispy crunch. Nice!
日式烧汁煎烧卖 Pan-fried “Siew Mai” with Teriyaki Sauce.
These siew mai were solid.
I mean they were big, meaty, firmly packed with quality pork and full of flavourful sweet savouriness. The fermented fish roe topping added umami savoury poppy crunch. Fun and delicious.
笋尖虾饺皇 Steamed Prawn Dumpling (Ha Gao)
Love Kai Duck's prawn dumplings!
Just a top quality shelled crustacean in a thin rice coat, steamed to naturally sweet juicy crunchy doneness.
So simple, perfect.
Simply perfect.
Comforting soup.
Coconut custard.
Unless you are allergic to coconut, you have to get this refreshing treat when you are at Kai Duck. The silky smooth, pillow soft creamy coconut custard was so delicious.
Looking forward to coming back to this wonderful place for Peking duck, dim sum and more.
