Laksa by Heng Heng Cooked Food馃搷Yuhua Village Market and Food Centre 鍏村叴鐔熼

Came to Yuhua Village Market and Food Centre for Heng Heng Cook Food.

The humble hawker stall serves two dishes - laksa and prawn noodle.

This time I opted for a small serving of laksa for SGD$4.

It's a very simple rendition - there's only laksa noodle, taupok, fish cake slices, and blood cockles in curry. Garnished with daun kesum (laksa leaves) and optional sambal. It's a generous portion for $4.

The finely diced laksa leaves were "free flow" which is very generous considering the cost and effort to dice them.

So I put a bit more lor 馃き

Fish cake slices, two good spongy taupok, around five or six small fresh blood cockles.

Light-medium bodied curry with coconut milk and spices. It tasted mildly sweet, spicy, umami. I like it.

Add in sambal and tune the curry to spicy, umami, sweet, if you prefer that taste profile.

Generic tender thick bee hoon picked up the curry and laksa leaf flavours and aromas well.

A simple, no frills curry laksa with a light but solid curry. Next time try the $5 serving which come with prawn, and also try the prawn noodle.
