Chinese Fine Dining in Kuala Lumpur at Celestial Court Restaurant Sheraton Imperial Hotel JK1529
Johor Kaki was invited to visit Celestial Court, the fine dining Cantonese Chinese restaurant at Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The spacious imperial court inspired interior is grand yet welcoming as guests stroll into the elegant common dining areas and private rooms further inside. Guests enjoy their meals with feet on plush warm earthly carpets and bathed in the glow of the heavens over head.
Cheerful Anna helped us with Celestial Court's extensive menu, offering us personalised suggestions.
For starters, we had Deep Fried Stuffed Prawn 芝麻琵琶蝦 served with sauteed onion, capsicum and roasted sesame dressing (RM45 per portion).
When Anna suggested to us to try their signature roast duck, chicken char siew and chicken poached in soy sauce, we couldn't decide on which one.
Fortunately, there is Celestial Court Trio Barbecued Combination 天宝烧味拼盘 (RM95 medium portion) which has tasting portions of all three dishes.
Anna recommended that we try the Pan Seared Baby Lamb Ribs with Special Chef Sauce 香煎羊仔骨 (RM77 for small portion).
ooh.. we love the short rib's soft, tender and juicy meat with some fat and a slight gentle crispness outside. The stubby rib is rich with sweet savoury flavours and a slight lamb gaminess, the kind that I like. If you are a lamb lover, this is a Must Try at Celestial Court.
Seafood in Nyonya Style Curry 娘惹咖喱虾球锅 with assorted vegetables served in a clay pot (RM125 for small portion).
Fresh meaty shelled prawns, scallops and fish slices with lots of crunchy vegetables like lady fingers, cabbages, carrots, tomatoes and so on in a rich creamy mildly spicy curry.
For greens, we had simple stir fried Green Dragon Leaf Vegetable 青龙菜 (RM35 small serving).
The dish was well executed with the natural sweet green taste of the juicy crunchy vegetable accentuated by the slight savoury sauce.
Celestial Court Special Fried Rice 天宝五谷饭 (RM45 for small portion).
We were wowed by the combination of fried Glutinous Rice, Black Glutinous Rice, Brown Rice, White Rice, and Barley together with scallion, minced dried chicken meat, mushroom and bonito flakes.
Yeah... it's a lot of carbs but this is worth it. It is loaded with layers of gentle mild sweet savoury flavours and has many interesting textures from the 5 different types of grains.
Chilled Avocado Puree with Walnut Ice Cream (RM19++)
Chilled Herbal Jelly with "Cheng Tng" Soup (RM18++).
👍 Celestial Court Sheraton Imperial is one of Kuala Lumpur's best known Chinese fine dining restaurants. The classic Chinese imperial palace inspired decor is a fine place to host guests and gather with family. There are many popular dishes in the extensive menu and we tasted a few today that we liked very much.
