Sentosa Curry Rice 大豐咖喱饭 has been around for a long time. I remember eating here when the kids were toddlers over two decades ago. This scene is repeated everyday for the past decades.
There are lots of dishes to choose from at Sentosa Curry Rice 大豐咖喱饭 - around 40 - 50 from vegetables, eggs, tofu, fish to meat.
The dishes come stir fried, deep fried, braised, steamed and stewed including several curry dishes.
There is always a queue at Sentosa Curry Rice until everything is sold out. There are many takeaway customers, some coming with their tiffin carriers (I have one in my car 😆).
There are ample tables and chairs along the road for an authentic street food experience. Plastic top folding tables, stackable plastic chairs, passing cars churning up road grime, the occasional honk, the rays of the evening sun in our eyes, one or two persistent flies - not for everyone but I like this. (Not so hot, if you wait till after 7:00pm.)
Our first round RM17 - fried chicken, asam pedas stingray, sambal petai, and fried long beans with eggs.
Our more modest second set at RM11 - fried chicken (again 😋), steamed eggs with minced pork, curry vegetables, and sambal sotong.
The curries at Sentosa Curry Rice are quite mild and just slightly spicy, but this sambal chili packs a sharp stinging punch.
Sentosa Curry Rice's food are freshly cooked. They are also sold out in about two hours every day, so everything is fresh.
From the dishes we had, the overall flavours are mild, not overly salty nor too oily. They taste good and we love it, like many regular customers do.
👍Curry rice lovers do check out Sentosa Curry Rice 大豐咖喱饭 - JB people's favourite. Lots of dishes, flavours are balanced, food are freshly prepared, prices are reasonable and if you are a street food junkie, the road side experience is priceless.
