The Alley Bubble Tea Craze. The Devil is more Interesting while the Angel is a bit too Sweet for me

The Alley Bubble Tea Craze. The Devil is more Interesting while the Angel is a bit too Sweet for me

Folks who know me personally, know that I love bubble tea one. Though I've cut down on sugary drinks a great deal, I still follow what is trending in the bubble tea world. The craze over the Taiwanese chain, The Alley ้นฟ่ง’ๅทท in Singapore and Malaysia caught my attention recently.

So, I gladly accepted the invitation to meet at The Alley's new outlet at Cineleisure (at Orchard Road, Singapore) to pre-view The Alley's new flavours Devil & Angel Lychee Lulu before their worldwide launch.

All of us are Angels because we all have a sweet side - our best side that stands out and above others.

The Alley's Angel looks pure white with the fruity fragrance and sweet taste of fresh lychee fruit. There were meaty lychee fruit pulp at the bottom of the tall cup of milk tea. We can add The Alley's famous handmade soft chewy tapioca boba, if we like.

We all have a dark side - there is a devil in all of us.

The Alley's Devil has the same fruity lychee fragrance and flavour as the Angel, with another layer of subtle sweetish twist that tempts me, like devils do.

The best face forward.

I enjoyed both - Angel or Devil? It depends on what I am at the moment ๐Ÿ˜„

Since I am already here, I tried also The Alley's famous classic Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk that took the bubble tea world and Instagram by storm.

No kidding, I saw how people went crazy over Brown Sugar Deerioca on the other side of the globe in Toronto and Waterloo (just last week when I was there). Fun fact: For the first overseas outlet of The Alley, they leapfrogged across the globe and opened it in Ontario, Canada.

You know lah, brown sugar works for me whether in cendol, onde onde or Brown Sugar Deerioca.

My most memorable bubble tea today was this Snow Velvet Series cup of White Peach Oolong Tea topped with rich cream cheese. Slurping audibly through that thick savoury cream cheese topping, before I got to the sweetish refreshing oolong tea below. The blend of savoury sweetness is bound to hit the spot with uncles and aunties, and I heard that bubble tea fans of all ages love this too.
