Second makan stop today was Dona Bakehouse which was right next door to Hiap Joo banana cake and across Jalan Tan Hiok Nee from Kin Hua coffee shop.
A simple facade you will not miss, and after trying it, I say you should not miss the food here.
Stepping in, we were greeted by a large glass cabinet of fresh bakes.
There was a good range of fresh bakes.
Busy space at ground level. Bright, high ceiling, comfortable and cool.
The upper level.
Oops... I took a sip from my cuppacino before taking this picture. The Arabica was nice - aromatic, robust balance of nutty, bitter, sweet in a rich round body.
Picked this Almond Butter Banana Tart based solely on its good looks.
Sweet, nutty, buttery, flaky, crisp, soft, creamy. So many layers of flavours and contrasting textures.
Happy with the sweet pastry, we next picked the Mushroom Cheese Danish.
Buttery cheesy savoury sweet with layers of soft tenderness.
Lots more pastries, breads and savoury dishes to come back to Dona Bakehouse for. They have all day breakfast sets which I saw many people ordering. They open at 8:30am, so can consider here for breakfast.
Pastry chef Jasmine founded Dona Bakehouse Cafe about five years ago.
I will be back.
