From 14th August to 25th September 2025, Sqkii and DBS present #HuntTheMouse DBS SG60 (the “game” or “cash hunt”), a special edition of the popular cash hunt game to celebrate Singapore’s 60 years of nation-building and the heartlands.
This edition encourages players to get together with family and friends and spend more time in the heartlands to discover hidden gems and support local merchants through an engaging and gamified experience.
A total of 200 silver DBS Heartland game coins, each worth S$600, will be progressively hidden across various heartland locations in Singapore, forming a S$120,000 cash prize pool!
Your challenge is to hunt for these coins in the Singapore heartlands (game ends on 25 Sep).
Our heartlands are rich with many foodie gems waiting for us to explore, discover and enjoy. Check out these hawkers from our heartlands - they are among my favourites and all bring something special to your table.
#HuntTheMouse DBS SG60 should hide the DBS Heartland coins each worth $600 each in these heartlands before it ends on 25 September.
Bon Appetit!
Good luck! 🍀
Poached chicken are everywhere in Singapore but poached duck is very rare on our sunny island. There is one well established stall serving this unusual dish at HDB Blk 168, Toa Payoh - Benson Salted Duck.
Worth a try if you have an adventurous palate or bored with chicken or roast / braised ducks.
After years of experimentation and experience, Benson has perfected his poached duck. The meaty flesh is tender and moist, sweet and just subtly gamey but hardly salty at all.
One Mouth Wanton Noodle at Yishun Park Food Centre looks pretty ordinary but everything in the bowl is spot on delicious.
The char siew is freshly made at the stall. The roast pork tender and rich with savoury sweet flavour. The shrimp wantons have only one succulent crustacean wrapped inside but it is so fresh, crunchy and sweet.
The best thing at One Mouth is their daily fresh handmade egg noodles - something very rare in Singapore as almost all stalls use factory made noodles now.
The egg noodles are relatively heavy, dense and well endowed with addictive springy crunchy mouth feel. The sauce is a simple blend of savoury and lardy which is perfect for highlighting the best in the excellent egg noodles.
Check out Bendemeer Prawn Noodle at Bendemeer Market & Food Centre. It's a umami champion.
So much flavour from the full bodied pork and prawn soup, tee poh (dried sole fish), freshly fried shallot, lard, and fresh sweet prawns. A bit of chili paddy spike up the heat and heighten flavours.
Thye Hong Fishball Noodle at HDB Blk 233 Bukit Batok. Not many people know that this stall is related to the popular Thye Hong fishball stall at Ghim Moh hawker centre and Ru Ji Kitchen fishball at Holland Drive hawker centre.
These three stalls are by three brothers, except that the Bukit Batok stall is now run by the second generation. But, it is equally good as the veterans' stalls as Louis had worked with his dad at the stall for over a decade. He is a hawker master in his own right.
It's the same soft tender moist fishball and fishcake as Gim Moh and Holland Drive, loaded with fresh yellowtail fish sweetness.
Come to Blk 233 Bukit Batok for the excellent fishballs which are also very competitively priced. The obligatory noodles come with robust sambal and lots of lard!
Enjoying a hawker centre or coffee shop meal is part and parcel of being Singaporean. What better way to celebrate SG60 than enjoying our unique Singapore flavours in our community eating places.
Enjoy makan and good luck with your hunt! 🍀
