JÄÄDE Water Celebrates First Anniversary • Taste the Joy of Nordic Nature

✍️ 22 Oct 2025. Today, JÄÄDE Water celebrates its first Anniversary in Singapore.

The auspicious event was an informal yet dignified, intimate gathering of industry peers, friends, and partners.

H.E. Juha Markkanen, Finland's Ambassador to Singapore was the Guest of Honour and delivered the keynote address.

The ambassador congratulated JÄÄDE Water on its anniversary and amazing achievements. He was encouraging and supportive of the company's future expansion together with its Finnish partners.

Allan Poh, co-founder of JÄÄDE Water was justifiably proud with the phenomenal growth of his baby.

JÄÄDE Water started quietly, humbly in 2023 as an online shop. Today, JÄÄDE water is served in premium restaurants, bars and cafes such as Mama Diam, Artemis Grill, VUE, Plain Vanilla and Janice Wong @Supertree, just to name a few.

JÄÄDE is now available for guests at select hotels and proudly on the shelves of Don Don Donki, MEIDI-YA and Little Farms.

JÄÄDE Water was appointed the official still water for Singapore Food Festival 2025.

On the international stage, JÄÄDE Water clinched the "Best New Brand" title at the Global Water Drinks Awards 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany. "Best Premium Beverage" prize at the World Beverage Innovation Awards 2024 in BrauBeviale, Germany, and struck "Gold" at the Aurora International Taste Challenge 2025 in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

It's a huge leap for a water sourced from far away from the pristine Salpausselkä Ridge in Finland and distributed by a young but tremendously motivated and innovative team.

JÄÄDE pronounced "yah.. day" means ice spring in Finnish as JÄÄDE water pristine and crisp, is sourced from Ice Age aquifers, naturally filtered and enriched by the Salpausselkä Ridge at Lahti, Finland. JÄÄDE water is bottled at source to ensure its purity, so a sip of JÄÄDE water from the bottle or carton is just like a mouthful straight from the spring at Lahti.

Ian Lau, JÄÄDE Water co-founder outlined the next lap for the company.

One word, grow. Locally in Singapore and overseas.

Leveraging on the strong foundation, network and momentum, JÄÄDE Water is now poised for greater expansion in 2026.

The visionaries of JÄÄDE Water set their sights on even greater heights in 2026.

"JÄÄDE has grown with quiet strength, and we are here today thanks to the support of our partners and collaborators across many industries. I’m honoured to mark our first anniversary with them, as we look ahead to the next chapter in JÄÄDE’s journey” Allan Poh reflected, without forgetting that success in this field is a team sport.

Notable guests gracing the event include Sam Wu, Singapore's first water sommelier and Janice Wong, Singapore's top chocolatier.

"JÄÄDE’s water reflects the purity of Finland’s natural landscape - clean, crisp, and refreshing. With its low minerality and neutral taste, it's exceptionally versatile - ideal for brewing tea and coffee, preparing soups, or pairing alongside wines and fine cuisine. I’m glad to see JÄÄDE reaching more people internationally and sharing a piece of Finnish nature with the world." Sam Wu, Singapore's first, and foremost authourity on natural spring water.

Sam led us through a water tasting session comparing purified water, JÄÄDE water and a high minerality water.

At the lowest end of the spectrum, purified water stripped of its minerals by machines and chemicals tend to absorb the flavours of its environment and produce an off taste. For example, purified water in plastic bottles often have a plastic taste. It leaves a negative taste on whatever food or drink it is paired with.

At the other extreme, spring water with very high minerality has its own taste profile or strong personality which often compete or affect the taste of the food and drink it is paired with, especially delicate, exquisite ingredients.

Fortunately, the low minerality (Total Dissolved Solid TDS 107) and neutral taste of JÄÄDE water make it the ideal companion for fine foods and wines.

We can taste and feel the world of difference on our palate.

Justin Teo, independent epicurean shared his experience from his trip to Lahti, Finland, the source of JÄÄDE water. Justin concurs with Sam's sentiments about how JÄÄDE water's low minerality and neutral taste elevate the enjoyment of exquisite and fine cuisine.

Caryn Tang, Singapore's first woman water sommelier shared the stage with Sam.

Janice Wong shared about making chocolate with JÄÄDE water during her trip to Finland.

Small bites and chocolate for the event were specially created by Janice Wong to enjoy with JÄÄDE water.

For example, we tested JÄÄDE water with Roasted Salmon with Avocado Chimichurri. Low minerality and neutral - soft, light body, smooth, clean and pure, JÄÄDE water allowed our palate to discern the subtle flavours of the fish, other ingredients and garnishes in the dish.

JÄÄDE sparkling water and Balsamic Infused Fig Cheese Tartlette.

Of course, there will be chocolate.

Ask for JÄÄDE water next time for a better experience. Your food, coffee, tea, or wine, will taste better.
