We went to Grace's Mama Nyonya for brekky this morning. We enjoyed their Nyonya laksa and mee siam, but the most memorable was their roti jala.
Grace's Mama Nyonya used to be in Taman Molek but moved here at Jalan Harmomium 12 in Taman Desa Tebrau. Look out for this corner shop lot as there is no signboard at the moment. Set your WAZE App to "Grace's Mama Nyonya" and it will bring you right up to this spot.

Everything in this mee siam was nice - the gently spicy bee hoon, crispy fried chicken wing, fried egg with runny yolk and mild sambal chili. All the elements and textures complemented each other well, and the savoury sweet spicy flavours were nicely balanced.
I like this Nyonya laksa too.
The laksa was heavy and creamy, and it tasted sweet spicy with a delicate underlying savouriness. Its a bit greasy but it tasted so good, I drank it all up anyway ๐๐
I had thick bee hoon and I liked it that the rice noodles were soft-tender bouncy to the bite. The fat bee hoon had a slight sweetness which went well with the sweet-spicy laksa.
My favourite this morning was Grace's freshly made roti jala. Grace's roti jala was slightly thicker and heavier than average. It also had a nice brown crisp on the outside, while inside it was tender.
The accompanying chicken curry was thick and creamy, sweet spicy.
The best roti jala that I have tasted so far. The thick roti had a nice, soft chewiness inside while outside it had a slight crisp. The roti picked up the heavy creamy curry well. In the mouth, the sweet roti combined nicely with the sweet spicy curry. It also had a subtle toastiness from the slight browning.
This is the lunch menu. Would love to be back to try these dishes. Grace makes great Nyonya kueh too.
4-Stars (out of 5). There are still many more dishes that I want to try at Grace's Mama Nyonya. From today's brekky, I enjoyed the mee siam and Nyonya laksa. The most memorable for me is their roti jala with chicken curry which I give 4-Stars ๐ (All breakfast dishes cost RM7 a serving.)
Grace Mama Nyonya is my favourite place for Nyonya food in JB, so I have written a few more posts about it since my first visit in 2012 ๐ click
