Flight GJ8998 on Tues, Thurs and Sat from Singapore Changi to 张家界荷花国际机场 Zhangjiajie Hehua.
The signature of Singapore Changi Airport is the iconic air traffic control tower.
Flight GJ8997 on Tues, Thurs, Sat from Zhangjiajie to Singapore.
The signature of Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport is Tienmen Shan mountain 天門山. Yes, with Loong Air you fly from Singapore direct to one of the natural wonders of the world. (Note to self: Window seat is a must. I haven't seen a shot of this mountain from the air yet 🤔 )
GJ8998 and GJ8997 use Airbus A320 🙏 aircraft with 179 economy class seats. Ten kg carry-on and 23 kg check-in luggage allowance with in-flight meals provided. Peace of mind, swee lah.
In the past, when there was no direct flight between Singapore and Zhangjiajie, visitors had to land in Changsa (capital city of Hunan) or Guangzhou, and then transfer by land or domestic air to get to Zhangjiajie.

Zhangjiajie 張家界 is a prefecture-level city in the northwestern part of Hunan province, China. Population 1.5 million - means you get all the modern amenities of cities without the crushing crowds (why go from maddening crowd to other crowds for holiday right 😉 ).
Zhangjiajie city - prefecture contains the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, part of the stunning 武陵源 Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
A must see, must experience natural wonder of the world, 武陵源 Wulingyuan was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, a well deserved accolade.
Wulingyuan is a forest of not only trees but 3,000 quartzite sandstone pillars along with many ravines and gorges with picturesque streams, pools, placid lakes, winding rivers, and cascading waterfalls.
Many of the quartzite peaks tower over 200 metres.
If this stunning landscape gives you a sense of deja vu like you have seen it somewhere before 🤔, chances are, you actually have.
The surreal 武陵源 Wulingyuan Scenic Area is popularly known as Avatar Floating Mountains because it inspired the Hallelujah Mountains of planet Pandora in the 2009 blockbuster movie Avatar.

The best way to partake this breathtaking natural wonder is by Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge which is a glass-bottomed skywalk / footbridge 300 metres (about 90 storeys) above the ground. It is the longest and highest glass bottomed bridge in the world.
