Went to Yong Xin 永新鲍鱼粿條 in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah this morning for brekky.
We opted for Yong Xin's signature Abalone Kway Teow RM12+ per serving.
The soup is watery but loaded with savoury sweetness, actually slightly too sweet for my liking.
Part of the sweetness came from the many ingredients in the soup - there were fresh prawn (1 only with shell on), pig stomach, fresh oyster, fish maw, pork liver and lean pork. All are cooked to just the right doneness, so they have nice texture and natural sweetness.
Yong Xin's signature tender abalone slice and other shell fish in the soup. They are all canned shellfish with slight briny flavour which gave the soup it's salty savouriness.
Generic kway teow tossed in a savoury sweet sauce laced with aromatic lard. Simple and likable.
Toss in a few of these crunchy lard cracklings and the noodles raise to another level of shiokness 😃
👉 Simple and nice light meal at Yong Xin in Tun Aminah JB. Lots of "liaw" (料 ingredients) and full of savoury sweet flavours. Comfortable and clean ambiance. Reasonable pricing.
