Celine Chong's post in 吃的平台 Facebook group brought us to this cheap and good Hainanese mutton soup shop in Kampung Baru Pandan in JB. Two weeks later, we came back for their Hainanese chicken rice. It was good too 😋

Today, we visited Master Heng Noodle shop at Kampung Pandan in Johor Bahru. Master Heng serves a variety of noodles such as beef noodles, Hakka mee, curry mee, prawn mee etc, as well as Hakka yong tau foo.

Six years ago, sharing a table with a stranger, enjoying wanton mee at the no name stall at Kampung Baru Pandan in JB, my table mate suggested that I should also taste their curry laksa. (Friendly table sharing is the norm in Malaysia.) I promised him that I would. Six years later, I am here to fulfil that promise.

Pandan Mutton Soup 班蘭羊肉湯 is one of those famous Johor food that I missed because the legendary shop stopped operations before Johor Kaki blog started. I have only heard of, but never tried Pandan Mutton Soup, till today :-D [Update 2019: This shop has changed owners in 2019.]

Sin Huat Ikan Bakar 星發鐵板燒 is a well loved grilled fish stall at the popular night time food centre at Kampung Baru Pandan in Johor Bahru. It's one of my favourite places for ikan bakar in Malaysia and Singapore.

There are altogether three Pandan beef balls 班兰牛肉丸 branches in Johor Bahru -  one in Taman Johor Jaya, one in Taman Sri Tebrau, and last but not least, one in Kampung Pandan.

Besides the famous Poh Kee wanton mee, there is another popular wanton mee stall in the same row of stalls in Kampung Pandan.

Updated 12 Aug 2019. On my way north towards Ulu Tiram today, passing Kampung Pandan, I couldn't resist pulling over left into Jalan Loo Hong Joon. There are two well loved, old school wanton mee stalls I like here - the first has no name, and the other is Poh Kee. Today, I ate at Poh Kee.
