Lai Kee Fish Ball 来记西刀鱼丸 was one of the first posts on Johor Kaki, way back in 2012. Over the years, I wrote 4 separate blog posts about Lai Kee as every time I visit them, I like them more. My last visit 3 days ago was no different. In fact, I felt that they are better now than ever.

Lai Kee fish ball noodles 来记西刀鱼圆 is a household name in Johor Bahru, especially in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah 皇后花园 where the shop is located since 1987.

Lai Kee has a strong following of loyal locals, many of whom are third generation fans who grew up eating Lai Kee fish balls. So, the shop is always busy, filled with young and old customers from open till close.

This is my second post on Lai Kee fishball noodles 来记西刀鱼丸. I first posted about Lai Kee 来记 in Jan 2012 and it was one of my first posts since I created Johor Kaki blog.

I passed by Lai Kee a few more times since that first post but had to save my tummy space to try out other eateries in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah.

Lai Kee’s fish ball noodles 来记西刀鱼丸 is a household name in JB especially in TUTA (Taman Ungku Tun Aminah) where it has been in business since the 1980s. Lai Kee is always a bee hive of activity the moment it opens for business at 7:00am till closing time at 4:00pm. The shop is especially busy on weekends, so be prepared for longer waiting times.
