We had a nice chill out Saturday morning brunch at Super Loco Mexican restaurant at Robertson Quay of Singapore River.
I like the friendly cheerful festive vibes here.
There's breezy patio seating - the gentle breeze actually flows into the interior as well. Yeah..., so nice and cool throughout.
Finding Super Loco @ Robertson Quay is super easy as it is located just beside Alkaff Bridge. Built in 1997, Alkaff Bridge is shaped like a tongkang boat that once plied the Singapore River.
Happy people having fun.
Life is beautiful.
While waiting for the rest to arrive, I had a Dirty Mex Latte. It's espresso, Mexican chili blended cacao and cinnamon. It tastes like a thick rich caffe mocha with cinnamon and was sweet (without added sugar).
Quintessentially Mexican guacamole (avocado dip) with chewy tortilla chips.
All aboard, five of us, our first dish was DIY Taco Platter (for 2). There's sautéed mushroom, guacamole, slaw, chipotle mayo, onion coriander salsa, cheese, house vegetable pickles, hot sauces etc.
We just fold whatever we fancy into the soft chewy tortilla. So everyone taco's was different but all had fun and enjoyed it.
Blue Corn Waffle with crispy bacon, fried chicken, thick dribbles of sour cream, bowl of maple syrup.
I enjoyed this combination of savoury-salty, sweet flavours. The grilled bacon and fried chicken were tasty though not as crisp outside as expected.
This was my favourite dish of today's brunch - it's just so comforting, satisfying, endorphin inducing and makes me happy.
Classic Huevos Rancheros with fried free range chicken eggs, black beans, cheese quesadilla, salsa roja, guacamole, sour cream, pickled red onions etc on a pancake (tortilla).
Nice comforting homely feel to the mix of tender and soft textures with all the savoury sweet zesty flavours.
I used to think that Ang Mohs can't take spicy hot stuff. Of course, I have ridded myself of that misconception a long time ago. This hot sauce by Super Loco is spicy hot sourish salty and right at the edge of my limit of spiciness.
The extensive brunch menu of usual suspects like tacos, burritos, tortillas, burgers, eggs, et cetera.
We talked and talked, raved and raved but left forgetting to order the Must Have churros 😣
A Mexican joint is as much about its drinks as their food. Super Loco have a nice bar and extensive drinks menu.
Wellness Shots. Choice of energy boost, immune boost, meta boost. Various combinations of flavours and served chilled. They were refreshing and had underlying ginger zest.
Acai and Blueberry Smoothie. Blended with banana, almond milk, coconut water, flax and chia seed. Nice, refreshing and zesty. Just be careful that it is very cold. I burnt the roof of my mouth sucking up the smoothie with the straw. My own fault 😂
I haven't had the chance to visit Mexico, this was the closest I've been 👈 click
