Samyang Japanese Style Flavour U-dong Instant Noodle Soup

Samyang Japanese Style Flavour U-dong Instant Noodle Soup from Korea.

Inside the packet are the noodle block and two sachets of seasoning powder and garnishing.

Close up look at the noodle block. The noodles looked clean and was not greasy to touch.

The seasoning powder. No fragrance. Made of salt, and various extracts and dried seafood powders.

The garnishing of freeze dried onions and other vegetables.

My bowl of hot noodle soup was ready to eat within 5 minutes.

The slightly curly noodles were thick, smooth, and soft yet firm with a nice spring. The noodles had a clean wheat taste.

I like these slurpy noodles.

The tea coloured broth was light bodied and clean tasting. The flavours were mildly savoury and salty. There was hardly any oil in the broth, which is a plus point. There was no aroma from the broth.

Samyang Japanese Style Flavour U-dong did very well in the dip stick test. There was hardly any grease clinging to the dip stick.

Samyang Seafood Party Noodle Soup Instant Noodles

Samyang Seafood Party Noodle Soup Instant Noodles from Korea.

Inside the packet, a noodle block and two sachets of seasoning powder and garnishing.

The heap of seasoning powder. Mainly salt, MSG and various seafood extracts.

The garnishing consists of freeze dried seaweed, cuttlefish, mushroom, carrot and onion.

My hot bowl of noodles ready to eat in 5 minutes.

I like these noodles. They were relatively thick, firmer than average and had good bounce. They had a clean, slight wheat taste.

The broth was quite likable too. It was salty, savoury and slightly spicy. Didn't have that overpowering MSG taste and not too oily or salty, so the broth was drinkable.

Samyang Seafood Party Noodle Soup did well in the dip stick test. There was less than the average amount of grease stuck to the dip stick.

Ottogi Yeul Ramen Instant Noodles

The Ottogi Yeul Ramen Instant Noodles from Korea comes in an attractive colourful packet.

Inside the packet - the noodle block with the sachets of seasoning and garnishing.

The red hot coloured seasoning powder.

The freeze dried garnishing consisting of tiny bits of mushrooms, spring onions and chili.

Hot noodle soup was ready within 10 minutes. The garnishing gave the bowl of noodle soup some colour but the tiny bits were nearly tasteless.

The noodles are slightly thicker than average. Soft with a slight gummy bounce. Slight wheat taste.

The broth had a slight body. It was savoury with a spicy kick that lingered but it was not overly hot. I like this.
The MSG taste was very slight and I could drink up most of the broth.
However, there was not much aroma from the broth.

The dip stick test - not much grease in the Yeul Ramen broth - a plus point.
Overall, Yeul Ramen is a likable, economical instant noodle.

Samyang Chacharoni Chinese Soybean Paste Ramen Stir Instant Noodle

Bought this Samyang Chacharoni Chinese Soybean Paste Ramen Stir Noodle to try because of the attractive packaging and the funny name "cha cha roni" :D
This is dry "stir noodles" not the type with noodles in broth.

Inside the packet, the noodle block, a sachet of freeze dried ingredients and a sachet of dark soybean paste.

The sachet of freeze dried soybeans and tiny bits of fried dough.

The instant stir noodles ready within 10 minutes. The sticky sauce held the noodles together into a flattened ball of damp yarn.

The heavy noodles have a soft, gummy, tacky feel.
The heavily flavoured sauce overwhelms the noodles, so I could not detect the flavours from the noodles itself.
The gooey, tacky sauce cling tightly to the noodles and tasted salty, savoury and sweet. There wasn't any aroma from the dark soybean sauce.
The freeze dried soya bean and bits of fried dough were too little and mostly disappeared in the pile of noodles, and their flavours overwhelmed by the sauce.
Samyang Chacharoni Chinese Soybean Paste Ramen Stir Instant Noodle is not certified Halal.
