This was one of my most memorable accidental finds. Butanchu Ramen was just outside Green World Zhong Xiao hotel where we stayed for a week in Taipei. We were leaving for the airport and our taxi was arriving in 15 minutes. So we dashed into Butanchu for a quickie lunch - otherwise, an overseas chain restaurant is the last thing we want to eat in Taipei 😄

Ramen Taisho Maxwell Road Food Centre. Best Hawker Ramen in Singapore

Lunched today at Ramen Taisho at Maxwell Road Food Centre. I was a little early, so I was treated to a glimpse of the partially raised shutter. So cute, right? Ramen Taisho stall is located diagonally across from Tian Tian chicken rice (which always has a long queue of tourists, so you can't miss it).
Ramen Nagi at Suntec City Tower 2. First in Singapore

Last night, I attended the preview of Ramen Nagi which officially opens today (12 Oct 2017). A young brand founded by Chef Ikuta Satoshi in 2006, Ramen Nagi amazingly already have 22 outlets in Japan and 28 around the Asia Pacific. The outlet at Suntec City Tower 2 is Ramen Nagi's first Singapore outpost.

Ramen Benkei in Asakusa ラーメン弁慶 Tokyo ⭐⭐⭐⭐✱
Dropped by Asakusa today for a day of sightseeing at Sensō-ji Temple, one of Tokyo's most important shrines, popular with both domestic and overseas visitors. The Kaminarimon (dedicated to the God of Thunder 雷神) which is the first of two gates leading to Sensō-ji Temple was crowded with visitors to the revered shrine.

The Best Ramen in NYC - New York City on Sunday
Ramen wasn't at the top of my mind when I was visiting New York City. I was making my rounds of pizzas, bagels, hotdogs, donuts, cheesecakes and pastrami until Johor Kaki blog follower Mogan brought me for a late night, after work ramen supper at Takashi.
That was the ramen awakening for me ;-D
New York City being New York City, doesramen things with it's own stamp and distinction. From then on, I embarked on my own discovery trail of NYC's ramen.
I've tried a quite a few ramen shops in NYC and from that experience have conjured up, what in my mind would be the ideal ramen for me.
There is a great deal of diversity in styles and types of ramen. This is just the ideal ramen of my imagination. I am sure everyone have their own ideas about what is the best ramen as taste is a very personal thing.

Ramen at Dontaku in City Square Mall in Johor Bahru
As a recent ramen convert, I am keen to look for a good ramen joint in Johor Bahru. As Dontaku Japanese Restaurant in City Square Mall has a good range of ramen, I harboured hopes that it will be my ramen haunt in JB.
Alas, it was not to be. I have tried the ramen at Dontaku several times but came away from recent visits unimpressed.

Best Ramen in NYC New York
No not really the top 10 best ramen in New York City, just my personal favourites after trying numerous ramen shops during my 10 week stay in NYC ;-D

All these ramen shops are excellent though not in every department; so here I am just highlighting each shop's best points and let you read the full review by clicking on the links. The shops are not listed in any particular order or ranking.
