The trendy riverside cafes and restaurants at the Tha Maharaj Mall are great for hungry, thirsty and feet tired tourists after a day touring Bangkok's heritage sites nearby like the Royal Grand Palace, Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) and Wat Arun (historic former Royal Temple). We had our dinner at the riverside Savoey Tha Maharaj and enjoyed ourselves with the food, service and environment very much.

Sampaonava Restaurant · Amazing Giant River Prawns in Ayutthaya Thailand สำเภานาวา

We spent a fascinating day visiting the historic city of Ayutthaya which was Thailand's capital from 1350 to 1767 (more on this in a future post). We stopped for lunch at Sampaonava สำเภานาวา - a nice, small restaurant beside the Chao Phraya River. We had a relatively light meal of four dishes 🙏 which included a pair of amazingly delicious Thai giant river prawns.
