Stumbled upon Hong Wen Mutton Soup stall at Maxwell Food Centre. I know Hong Wen as it was one of the top of my mind Chinese mutton soup stalls in Singapore since the 1980s.

Eh... But Hong Wen Mutton Soup seemed a bit out of place here in the CBD 🤔 - the stall is an Upper Bukit Timah / Beauty World icon.

There are about half a dozen fishball noodle / bak chor mee stalls at Maxwell Food Centre. The one with the longest queue ironically has the lowest social media visibility 🤔

Social media is recently abuzz with a new bak chor mee stall at Maxwell Food Centre. The 22 year old culinary school trained grandson of famous Ah Ter bak chor mee of Amoy Street Food Centre has just set up his own outpost at nearby Maxwell Food Centre.

(Maxwell Food Centre, ground zero of the Singapore chicken rice war zone is slowly emerging as a bak chor mee battleground as well but that's a story for another post 😬 )

I am an appam fan and stopped in my tracks when I stumbled upon Mr. Appam at Maxwell Food Centre. It's a new stall I've not seen before. We tried and liked it. If you are in the area, it will make a good sweet snack with teh (tea) or kopi (coffee).
