I've been to Selera Menanti before and had some nice dishes there.
I am back this time for their laksa Siglap to complete my research on this Singapore variant of laksa.
The ladies running the little stall were kind, friendly and patient even on this busy Saturday morning.
Mound of rice noodles smothered under a blanket of grainy watery orange brown colour sauce.
Topped with bean sprouts, chopped and sliced cucumber, daun kesum (laksa leaf) and a crimson dollop of chili.
SG$3.50 for this serving which is very competitive in today's market.
The sauce of coconut milk, spice, herb and aromatics was grainy yet watery. Nice mild savoury sweet flavours. The presence of grainy kerisik or grated coconut pulp was pronounced.
Laksa Siglap kuah (sauce) normally has grounded fish but I can't really detect it in this serving.
The sambal spiced up the sauce though it was neither overpowering nor too sharp.
