Had always wanted to try Shima's Kitchen Malay nasi campur stall at Holland Drive Hawker Centre. It always has a long queue, especially during lunch time.

Cheng Heng Kway Chap & Braised Duck is an institution here at Holland Drive Food Centre. Stalking the popular hawker centre for breakfast, the tables around Cheng Heng were occupied by their uncle-auntie type fans. I just got pulled in unconsciously, like old birds of a feather.... 😅

Ru Ji Kitchen at Holland Drive now does Bak Chor Mee & it's Good too

I had a meet up in Buona Vista this afternoon, so I took the opportunity to lunch at Holland Drive food centre, one of my favourite hawker centres in Singapore. Circling the busy hawker centre, I noticed that Ru Ji, the famous fish ball noodle stall had expanded to two stalls - side by side. The new stall serves bak chor mee. As a born and bred Singapore bak chor mee lover, I naturally chose to try it.

During my past life, I like attending courses at the Singapore Civil Service College - it lets me get away from work for a few days 😃 and also lets me have a chance to lunch at Holland Drive hawker centre 😋 which is just steps away.

There are plenty of choices at Holland Drive hawker centre, but most of the time, I just ended up with "set lunch" at Leong Wei Roasted Delight. Since I was in the area today, I dropped in on my favourite old haunt.

Holland Drive food centre is packed during lunch because of the government offices nearby. Most of the lunch crowd were office workers.On my way to a medical appointment nearby Buona Vista MRT, I dropped by Holland Drive food centre for lunch. I like this updated food centre as it still has many of my favourite old stalls here. I lived a few years in this area in the 1980s.

Ru Ji Kitchen Handmade Fish Ball Noodle in Holland Drive Hawker Centre Singapore 如记小厨

After my medical appointment at NUH this morning, I went over to Ghim Moh hawker centre for Guan Kee char kway teow. Again, the stall was closed - it has always been like this during the last few years. The last time I tasted Guan Kee CKT was some 20 years ago.

Anyway, I popped over to nearby Holland Drive hawker centre for Ru Ji Kitchen's fish ball noodles. It is always open, always honours its published hours. Ru Ji saved the day again for me as their fish ball noodle is always consistently good.
