When I want a balanced meal, quick, no fuss and doesn't compromise on choice and taste, I often go for chap chai png which is known as economy rice (in Singapore) and chap fan (in KL). When in JB, my favourite place for economy rice is 肆源小炒 near the Masai bus terminal. It doesn't have an English name, I just refer to it as Mr Tay's (the boss) place.
You know, it's one of those days when all three eateries I planned to try were all closed for the day. I was getting hungry and running out of time for my other commitments when I found myself in Masai. When I am lost for ideas and tired, I fall back on places that I believe won't fail me. In Masai, my comfort food hideout is 肆源小炒 zhi char stall.
肆源小炒 (no English name) is one of my favourite eating places in JB, one of those default places to eat when I just want a nice meal without having blogging in mind - since I have blogged about 肆源小炒 3 times already because I like the food here so much. But, I can't help it - their poached chicken, roast chicken and roast pork are so good, I just have to tell you about them. So, this will be the fourth time that I am blogging about 肆源小炒.
After running an errand in Masai, Johor this morning, we swung over to Mr. Tay's little stall 肆源小炒 for brunch. It's just simple staples with rice but the dishes were nicely done as usual. It's another humble but satisfying meal at 肆源小炒.
I just wanted a small, simple lunch today by dropping by at Mr Tay's no name stall at Jalan Bunga Ros opposite the Masai bus terminal. Actually, I miss Mr Tay's hor fun which is among my favourites now in Singapore and Johor.

看到 Henry 每天 post 爱吃的卤肉面, 看了忍不住, 我们也来了. 卤肉面真的很多卤肉又很香, 很甜, 真的很好吃. 我们还有吃老板的砂煲面, 也是很不错. 砂煲面里有烧肉还有芋头不错吃. 最喜欢的是老板的怡保河粉. 果条炒得有锅气. 粿条的汁也很够味. 如果你在 Masai 一带, 这无招牌小档口是一个好的午餐和晚餐的去处. Jalan Bunga Ros. Masai 巴士车站对面.
