✍ 28 Sep 2025. Was a little sad when Middle Road Pork Ribs Prawn Mee stall closed about eight months ago. It was my regular weekend haunt and there's so much memories attached to it, not to mention that it was delicious.

We met up at Alankar Kerala Cuisine in Singapore's Little India. Jasmine said we are going to have "thread prata". I wondered what that is? 🤔
Anyway, four of us, we had great fun together. Tried just a sampling from Alankar's quite extensive menu. We liked the food, were all well stuffed but I kept saying we shall be back for more dishes throughout the meal 🤭

We met up at Gandhi Restaurant at Chander Road. It is hugely popular but not much mentioned in social media. This was my first time here and is now at the top of my mind for "go eat banana leaf" places in Singapore.

Usman Restaurant. What to Eat in Singapore Little India
Buddy EJ brought me to Usman Restaurant in Singapore's Little India. EJ had been eating here for nearly 20 years and his raving about Usman's "white nasi briyani" got me excited. I am a nasi briyani fan and had never even heard of "white briyani" before, till now.

When makan kakis suggested lunch at Barakath Restaurant, I looked forward to it as I had been wanting to try their curry lamb shank bones since reading celebrity chef Damian D’Silva calling this place his “pukul mati" fix (Malay for “beat until you die”).

Finally had a chance to taste 545 Whampoa Prawn Noodles at Tekka Market today right after my medical appointment. So happy to manage to catch the last few bowls before the stall closes at 2:00pm 😃

Azmi Chapati Singapore Little India Norris Road
Hungry and alone in Little India, I remembered I had a rain check to come back to Azmi Chapati for chapati and mutton keema. I love this little place because of the freshly made chapatis and the rustic feel of the old corner coffee shop.
