Review Zhiwa Ling Heritage 5-Star Hotel in Paro • Where to Stay in Bhutan ☏ +97 5827 1277

Zhiwa Ling Heritage Hotel | Satsam Chorten, Paro, Bhutan ☏ +97 5827 1277
Stayed one night at Zhiwa Ling Heritage Hotel in Paro, Bhutan in Dec 2023.

The hotel nestled in the Paro Valley less than 30 minutes drive (15km) from Paro Airport. About 4km from Tiger's Nest monastery, one the icons and key attractions of Bhutan.

The hotel consists of one main administrative block and four satellite accommodation blocks, all within 5 minutes walking distance.

The main administrative building where the hotel lobby, restaurant and bar were located. The architecture was unmistakably Bhutanese in character.

The sheltered hotel drop off / pick up and lobby entrance.

Every inch of the lobby exudes its Bhutanese character.

The reception.

Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Most Bhutanese speak English as a second language at a level comparable to native English speakers.

Take a walk around the lobby.

Umbrellas and trekking poles available.

Go up to the second level.

Plenty of spaces to chill and just relax.

At the third level.

Beautiful murals at the top level.

There were four accommodation blocks a couple of minutes walk from the lobby. Buggy service was available.

I was here in winter, so the ground was brown, but there was no snow and the trees still had some green.

I arrived here in the evening and stayed a night in this block.

The room was huge, plush, warm and welcoming.

A thick king size bed.

A day bed for napping.

The heated bathroom was huge and well equiped.

Amenities were comprehensive including ground Bhutanese coffee and a French press.

My room had a small balcony looking out to the tranquil woods.

Freshened up and proceeded for dinner at the main building.

Very comfortable furnishings to enjoy our dinner.

The dinner menu.

I requested for Bhutanese Selection as I wanted to experience Bhutan's food culture as much as possible during my trip.

Clockwise from bottom left - Braised Pork, Cucumber Salad, Tree Tomato Chutney, Paro Red Rice.

Adjorned to the well appointed, cosy bar.

Didn't go out to take much pictures as it was a dark moonless night and it was cold outside (about 0°C).

Good morning 🌞

After a good night's sleep, stepped back to the main building the next morning for breakfast.

Bright, simple, comfortable place for breakfast. Not a buffet but restaurant table service (which I actually prefer).

Didn't really have a Bhutanese option though.

I enjoyed this Bumthang buckwheat pan cake.

Staff hoisted country flags of guests staying at the hotel. Six different countries on the night I was at the hotel.

My country (Singapore) flag.

Visiting Bhutan for an unforgettable experience, cap it with a stay at Zhiwa Ling Heritage, Bhutan's best hotel.

Bhutan was an immersive experience from the moment I stepped out of the aeroplane. The stay at Zhiwa Ling continued the unique Bhutan experience and will stay a part of my beautiful Bhutan memories.
