When you are in China's Jiangsu province, especially in its capital city Nanjing, you will see pale looking ducks hanging in restaurant windows on every street (okay... but only a slight exaggeration 🤭).

After dinner at Confucius Temple in Nanjing, we drove to Jin Ling Town nearby at Niu Shou Mountain. The beauty of Jin Ling Town was stunning - we could see its glowing lights from a distance as our bus approached the attraction.

Nanjing Must See. Da Bao'en Temple & Porcelain Tower of Nanjing 報恩寺.琉璃塔

One of the most memorable highlights from my visit to Nanjing in Jiangsu, China was Da Bao'en Temple 報恩寺 and the legendary Porcelain Pagoda of Nanjing 琉璃塔. Well, not really - these are 2015 reincarnations of the originals which were sadly destroyed in 1856 during the Taiping Revolution.

✍ 22 May 2024. Coming to Nanjing, we willy nilly pay an obligatory pilgrimage to the Fuzimiao area. There is a Confucius temple and the imperial exam museum. Nanjing used to be one of the imperial exam centres of old China where scholars were tested and the best were picked for the imperial service. Needless to say, imperial exams were extremely stressful.
