Buddy Evonne raved about the ramen at Sakaba in Taman Impain Emas 😁, a township in Johor Bahru's north, far from the tourist belt 😬 I was eager to try as I am looking for great ramen to add to my JB Eat List. (Coincidentally, just the night before, I brought friends to my usual ramen haunt. The quality has changed and I need to find another one for my List 😬 )

Samurai Ramen Umami from Japan is the latest ramen shop to open (on 17 Jun 2017) at AEON Jusco Tebrau's Ramen Street. It's right at the front, on the left, and the largest shop at Ramen Street.

Update 29 May 2019. Passing by Kibou-ken ramen at AEON Mall Tebrau City, I saw that they have a good promotion on. I am already a fan of Kibou-ken ramen, so this offer just makes it irresistible for me.

I was so excited to try this ramen after posts about Shen Ye Kitchen 深夜食堂 food truck keep popping up on my Facebook while I was still in Canada 😂 I love ramen and am also fascinated with food trucks, so the idea of a ramen truck is irresistible to me 😄

As a big fan of ramen, I am very happy that a new ramen shop Fukuryu Ramen Dining 福龍日式拉麵 recently opened in Sutera Utama in Johor Bahru (near Sutera Mall).

Ramen at Dontaku in City Square Mall in Johor Bahru

As a recent ramen convert, I am keen to look for a good ramen joint in Johor Bahru. As Dontaku Japanese Restaurant in City Square Mall has a good range of ramen, I harboured hopes that it will be my ramen haunt in JB.

Alas, it was not to be. I have tried the ramen at Dontaku several times but came away from recent visits unimpressed.
