Wherever I go, I love to visit the local fresh food market - they are always full of colours, nice things to eat and a good place to mingle with local people. When we asked locals in Hua Hin to recommend us a "wet" market, they pointed us to Fresh Food Market Cha-am.
I made my first trip to Thailand (in Hatyai) in 1981. One of the most memorable things from that trip was the taste of fried chicken leg from a street side stall. I can't remember how it actually tasted, but from that moment on, I must have a street side fried chicken leg every time I am in Thailand. It is one of my favourite foods ever since.

After lunch, we were about to pull into FN Outlet mall in Hua Hin (Thailand) when our local friend Dr. B pointed out a street side stall just outside and casually remarked that it serves the best kway chap in town. "Aiyah.. why you never bring us earlier...." we all laughed and teased her jokingly.
Four of us met for lunch at Summer Pavilion restaurant in Ritz Carlton Singapore. The exquisite flavours and impeccable service at the well appointed restaurant lived up to its One Michelin Star reputation. Summer Pavilion clinched the coveted award in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Singapore Michelin guides.
You know me lah...., my personal grooming has been barest essentials all my life. A simple monthly haircut at a random Indian barber shop is all I did all these years. When my hair gets a little grey, I just smear on DIY hair dye. That's it lah 😄
Four of us, we went on a 1-Day Food and Shopping Trail in Johor Bahru covering Pisang Goreng Mawar > Zaituna Nasi Arab > Paradigm Mall > People & Places Cafe > KSL Mall > Shan Ming Seafood in Pelangi.
I had the privilege to attend a preview of Chinatown Crossings produced by Drama Box - season two of the promenade theatre performance runs from 6 Jun to 13 Jul 2019. It's a live show on location in Chinatown which I enjoyed it very much. The show's three main characters took us from inside a dim creaky old Kreta Ayer shophouse through mysterious back alleys, to the bustling streets of Singapore Chinatown.

I must have walked past Hailam Cafe in Taman Molek literally hundreds of times as I come here regularly for banking errands. But, I have never stepped in before.
Our Kulai friend Puan Chong and family found Chao Shan Restaurant in Indahpura (Kulai) near their home and they love it. So, we arranged to have dinner there together last night.
Three of us went on a simple whole day food trail in Johor Bahru and Pontian today - after so many food trails, I think simple, leisurely ones without overeating are the best 😄 We stopped at just 5 places - Taika Huat Braised Duck 八里半大家发鸭肉 ➤ House of Giant Grouper 龍膽之家 ➤ Kheng Guan Hiong Coffee ➤ Pontian Wild Game Meat 笨珍三不卖野味 ➤ Tasting Lab (a wine shop).
When I just want a simple meal or ran out of ideas on where to eat, I often settle for lei cha fun 擂茶饭 (thunder tea rice). Lei cha fun is a healthy choice that doesn't compromise on taste at all.
As a wanton mee lover, seeing posts on Fortune Pot 福鼎记, a new wanton mee joint in Taman Mount Austin popping up in social media, I can't wait to check it out 😋
This humble no frills Indian restaurant in JB's Taman Mount Austin has been steadily building up a loyal following over the last three years with its authentic Indian dishes at reasonable prices. I am now one of their fans too after trying some of their dishes yesterday (and last year).
New Lucky is a half century old stalwart of JB seafood / zhi char restaurants which is very popular with locals and Singaporeans alike. Two of us, we went to try their famous char kway teow and peppery pig stomach soup which enjoy many raving reviews.

When I got the invitation to visit Sichuan, the first thing that got into my mind was "I am going to see the 🐼 pandas!". This will be my first time seeing a panda, that iconic animal from Sichuan, China. There are only around 1,000 pandas left in the world and 80% live in Sichuan.
Dropped in at the newest Roast Paradise outlet at Tampines Mall.
