I came slightly late to blogging and social media, and so missed out on some of the past legends - such as Red Hornbill stall in Bedok. Red Hornbill had many fans who think they serve the best Sarawak dishes in Singapore (before they closed). So, I have some regrets about not eating at Red Hornbill before 🥺

Top 73+1 Handmade Fishball @ New Century Coffee Shop in 151 Bishan

A reader who prefers to stay anonymous messaged me about Top 73+1 handmade fishball noodle stall at block 151 Bishan.

If you google Top 73+1, you will realise that it has a rather high social media profile but that stall is at block 532 Ang Mo Kio. 

Yang Ming Seafood @ 150 Bishan Singapore 扬名海鲜馆

✍️ 4 Jan 2024. Had wanted to visit Yang Ming Seafood for a long time, and finally made it today. Yang Ming is famous and popular, so doesn't need anymore introduction. Anyway, we just showed up on a rainy mid day without any reservation 😆

We were there before 1130am, so they were able to accommodate us.

151 Bishan Song Kee Fishball Noodle • It's All About Fish Dumpling. Her Kiao 松记鱼丸面

Relatively low profile Song Kee pedigree fishball noodle stall tucked away in a Bishan neighbourhood 15 minutes walk from Bishan MRT station. Its handmade fishball, fish dumpling (her kiao), pork-fish ball, sambal chili, noodles etc all come together deliciously. The best thing here for me is their her kiao.

Knife Cut Shaved Noodle Shi Xiang Ge @ Bishan Bus Interchange 食香阁.刀削面

Stopped over at Bishan MRT Station while running errands today. Went to the food centre above the bus interchange to look for lunch. It is a small hawker centre with just 10 food stalls. The two stalls with queues were the la mian / shaved noodle stall and the Cantonese roasts stall. This time we opted for Shi Xiang Ge La Mian / Shaved Noodle stall because shaved noodles are rarely found in Singapore hawker centres.

3 Aug 2023. Haven't been back to Sin Ming Road Chicken Rice since they moved to Bishan block 151. Today, seven of us gathered at their 151 Bishan shop for lunch.

Ding Ji Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle Bak Chor Mee Bishan 284 鼎记

I was running an errand around Bishan (Singapore) this morning and decided to give Ding Ji 鼎记 a try. Ding Ji is at block 284, Bishan Street 22 which is about 10 minutes walk from Bishan MRT station.

Ming Kee 明记 at Bishan MRT station is quite aggressive in giving their poached chicken the Cantonese "cold turkey ice dunking" treatment, so their cold served chicken boasts the clear 3-layers of tender juicy meat, jelly fat and soft smooth skin.
