The Glasshouse Tearoom in Johor Bahru, Bandar Jaya Putra

Just opened, Glasshouse Tearoom is a one of a kind elegant chill out place, unique in Johor and Singapore.

Glasshouse Tearoom is set in a standalone bungalow in Bandar Jaya Putra (JP Perdana). It's along a picturesque street with individual F & B outlets, all with their own interesting themes. Other signature outlets here include Just Want Coffee and Once Upon Time cafe.

Inside Glasshouse Tearoom, the decor is neo-classical European chic, which is understated yet elegant and charming. The earthly wood colours, ornate yet subtle wallpaper, chandelier and heavy pastel curtains felt like a typical contemporary European country home. The guests feel like they are gathering in a home rather than a restaurant.

The glasshouse is an enclosed extension at the back of the bungalow. Surrounded by greenery, the glasshouse is bright and spacious (during the day). It looked like a perfect setting for hiding out with best friends.

Love these shelves of exquisite, classy teacups and saucers. It triggered the gawker and hoarder instincts in me :P

A huge chandelier hangs from the ceiling of The Glasshouse.

There is also a grand piano in The Glasshouse. Le Wen, the owner, told me that customers are welcome to play the piano and there had been many impromptu performances to the delight of the guests.

I shall be back to grab a video of someone playing the piano :D

Wei Ling, Manager shared that Glasshouse Tearoom aims to bring quality lifestyle experiences to their guests. The Glasshouse Tearoom serves premium teas, pastries, ice cream, and some savoury bites. Glasshouse Tearoom also hold events that let customers appreciate beautiful life and art.

I am no tea aficionado at the moment but I enjoyed The Glasshouse's teas so much that I decided that teas shall be the next big thing for me to dabble into :D

These premium teas please the eye with their beautiful hues, and come in charming pots, cups, saucers and teaspoons. The teas perfume the air with their pleasant aroma and their flavours delight our taste buds.

Fruity, slightly tangy Citrus Punch (Fruit Tisanes) RM17.90+

Sweet and citrusy blend with rosehip peels, apple pieces, hibiscus flower and safflower. Pleasant aromatics and refreshing fruity flavor.

Delicate Geisha green tea RM17.90+

Green tea blended with strawberries, fruit and sencha.

Floral and fruity French Earl Grey tea.

Crime of Passion tea mocktail RM16.90+

A chilling name for a lovely chilled sweet tea :P

Flora tea with candy sweet aromas and dashes of rose, strawberries, raspberries as well as oranges.

The Glasshouse Tearoom serves a wide variety of pretty pastries and cakes to complement their premium teas.

Duchess of Bedford's Afternoon Tea RM89+

A collection of pastries, cakes and canapé served on a pretty 3-tiered dessert stand served and 2 pots of black tea.

On top, crumbly, buttery English scones served with strawberry preserve and “real” Devonshire clotted cream.

Middle level, tiramisu and other spongy chilled miniature cakes.

At the base level, an assortment of savoury canapé on toast bread topped with seaweed cucumber, tomato salsa, and classic egg mayonnaise.

I liked all of them.

Glasshouse Chocolate Fondue (RM69+) with cut fresh fruits, assorted flavours of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, mini pretzels, marshmallows, brownies and almond chips.

Perfect for a party of friends.

Ice cream with sweet caramel coated pop corn.

The Glasshouse Tearoom also has a small selection of savouries. This gently savoury vegetarian Sweet Pepper Quiche (RM15.90+) served with a leafy salad is a nice light meal to go with Lighthouse Tearoom's teas.

The Glasshouse Tearoom is on the right, just beside Just Want Coffee, a haven for coffee lovers.

When I look for a place to cool my heels and chill out with friends, The Glasshouse Tearoom will be one of my top of the mind choices.

Thank you Le Wen for the invite.
