In Malaysia, there are simple eateries that serve many kinds of local Malaysian favourites as well as "fusion" dishes all under one roof. There are many familiar local brands like PappaRich, Secret Recipe, Tea Garden, Moonlight etc. One Two Eat Cafe is a Johor Bahru homegrown brand with five outlets in JB.
These eateries are popular with locals because they are comfortable, the extensive menu has something for everyone - traditional favourites for elder folks and "fusion" dishes like mayo toasts for the younger set. Prices are competitive too. On some weekend mornings, we drop by such eateries. This morning, we were at One Two Eat cafe in Taman Molek.
The wait staff at One Two Eat was friendly and he suggested that we try their popular 干扰怡保河粉 "dry Ipoh rice noodles". It's kway teow kia smothered with a mildly savoury spicy curry sauce. The rice noodles in curry came with a small bowl of soup with fish balls (price RM7+).
We also tried their "fish head bee hoon" 鱼头米粉汤 (price RM11.50+). The bee hoon soup was served with good sized pieces of boney grouper fish head.
LOL we added a bowl of Penang style prawn noodle soup for good measure 😀 (price RM7.90+).
👉 We like it at One Two Eat Cafe as the menu is extensive. It has most of the local and "fusion" dishes we like. The portions are good sized and the prices are very reasonable. The opening hours are convenient - their Sutera outlet opens from 8:00am till 1:00am. It's a good place for a laid back weekend morning.
