Circuit Breaker* dairy. Today is Day 14, we decided to order Shukuu Izakaya's home delivery. I've been to Shukuu Izakaya's downtown shop at Stanley Street before and enjoyed their food.
* Circuit Breaker is a set of social distancing measures implemented by the Singapore government to stem the spread of COVID-19 infections. During Circuit Breaker, restaurants are not allowed to provide dining in service. They can only serve takeaway or delivery order. Initially from 7 Apr to 4 May (after 2 weeks on 21 Apr), Circuit Breaker was extended to 1 Jun 2020.

Our Set A came neatly and safely packed, along with a bottle of Shukuu Izakaya's house brand sake 😄
The food was freshly prepared and still quite hot when we unpacked them.
Rosti mentai is one of my favourites at Shukuu Izakaya and my favourite in Set A.
The skinny potato shreds were like noodles, sweet and crunchy. The torched mentaiko added quite robust salty savouriness and a bit of toasty taste to the dish. I love the sweet and savoury blend, and soft crunch in this dish.
Tori Kara-age. Shukuu's fried chicken bite.
Thin sweet savoury batter wrapping mildly sweet savoury tender moist chicken meat.
Gyu Ponzu. Cold beef with citrus sauce. Beefy flavours from the tissue thin fatty and lean beef but I mainly remember this dish for its salty savouriness from the ebiko. The citrus sauce is quite subtle i.e. I can't really discern it 😅
Gyuniku Jaga. This beef and potato stew, on the other hand, was mainly layers of sweetness from the tissue thin beef, potatoes, carrots and onions. I like this, mainly because I like sweet things.
Agedashi Tofu. Tofu cube coated with starch and deep fried, then served with dashi sauce. Simple savoury sweet likeable side dish.
Futo Maki. Dried seaweed wrapped rice roll with egg, ebiko, cucumber etc.
Yuzu Furikake Maki. Maki roll coated with yuzu furikake seasoning which has toasted sesame seed, fried seaweed, dried fish etc.
It's a lot of food for two people. The food is tasty and we are happy to be able to enjoy it in the safety of our home without having to go outside.

Stay home, stay calm, eat sushi and drink sake. Shukuu's house brand sake is sweetish, not too sharp. It is easy to like. Kan pai.
The COVID-19 virus cannot move by itself. People move it about. When people stop moving, the virus stop spreading.
