Tofu Village Toronto Koreatown for Gamjatang - Korean Pork Bone Soup

Tofu Village Toronto Koreatown for Gamjatang - Korean Pork Bone Soup

I like many Korean dishes and one of my favourites is gamjatang. It literally means potato soup but I think of it as the Korean version of bak kut teh (Singapore/ Malaysia pork bone soup).

I wasn't going to have another gamjatang or Korean style pork bone soup today. I had gamjatang at ten different places in Toronto already and it is time I try other food here 😂 Furthermore, my current stay in Toronto is coming to an end soon 😂

Gamjatang Pork Bone Soup. Kimchi House. Bloor Koreatown Toronto

When I am travelling, I rarely go back to the same restaurant as time is short and I would like to try as many different restaurants as possible before returning home. But, this was my second time in Kimchi House in Koreatown within a week. There are many things I like about this little ajumma (auntie run) eatery - one of over a dozen such homely comfort food shops in Toronto's little Korea.

My continuing obsession with gamjatang or Korean style pork bone soup took me to Mom's Korean Food in Toronto's Koreatown (again) for dinner 😄

Gamjatang at Yummy Korean Food in Koreatown, Toronto

I've been binging on gamjatang since discovering this homely Korean staple pork bone dish. Yeah, I came very late to the Korean party 😂 My ramen epiphany was in New York City and now in Toronto, it is Korean food.

Funny, I don't find gamjatang or pork bone soup mentioned in Top 10 Best Korean food listicles but practically all Korean eateries in Toronto's Koreatown have it on their menu. Torontonians love it for lunch, dinner and for nursing hangovers 😃

Sunrise House Korea Town. Bloor West, Toronto

Korean Canadian friends recommended this little hole-in-the-wall, auntie 아주머니 run shop for homely Korean comfort food. When we failed to snag a table yesterday at Sunrise House due to a continuously full house in the tiny shop, I was determined to come back again. Soon.
