One of New York City's most famous, Grimaldi's Pizzeria is located right at the foot of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at 1, Front Street on the Brooklyn side.

I took an enjoyable, leisurely 30 minute walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn. This is one of the best free things to do in New York City. The Manhattan skyline from the bridge is simply stunning.

At Grimaldi's Pizzeria, the usual line to get into the restaurant during lunch.

Inside Grimaldi's Pizzeria, it was warm and comfortable.

The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. The restaurant has two levels.

Grimaldi's Pizzeria's menu was simple, with everything on one page.

The dough was freshly made in house. While in the restaurant, we can hear the constant slapping sound of the fresh dough being made.

Adding toppings such as mozzarella cheese and fresh tomato paste.

At Grimaldi's, the pizzas were baked in a 1000 °F coal fired brick oven. Coal fired brick ovens make the best pizzas because of their ultra high temperatures. Such vintage ovens are vanishing as no new coal ovens are allowed to be built anymore. So, coal baked pizzas are a Must Try when you are in New York City 😄

Slicing the freshly baked pizzas before sending them to customers.

My glorious pizza at Grimaldi's. Basic mozzarella cheese with fresh tomatoes and additional topping of basil leaves.

The pizza had many large blisters 😮

The thin pizza crust was crispy, slightly hard like a biscuit outside with the inside softer and deliciously chewy.

The stretchy mozzarella cheese tasted rich and only mildly savoury with almost no greasiness at all. The tomato paste added sweetness and tartness to the simple pizza.

The additional topping of Basil leaves added a touch of delicate herbal aroma and flavour which I enjoyed.

This was one of the best pizzas that I have ever tasted.
