Ms Bobby from Thistle Hotels and Resorts invited me to dinner at Glass Restaurant at Thistle Port Dickson Resort, Malaysia.
Glass is the Italian themed restaurant at Thistle Port Dickson Resort.
Inside Glass Restaurant, the decor is simple, contemporary and cosy.
Rizuan is the man leading the enthusiastic team at the Glass Restaurant. Cheerful Rizuan has 13 years of experience in various restaurants including fine dining establishments in Kuala Lumpur.
Rizuan started us off with tomato brochettes which was marinated greens, parmesan and tomato salsa laid on pizza bread.
Nice crunchy and juicy start.
Our soup Brodo Di Pollo which is a homemade chicken consomme served with ciabatta bread with garlic butter spread.
The light bodied broth was mildly savoury and sweet with subtle herbal notes.
Isalata a la Glass which is marinated salad with avocado puree on mackerel with mixed olive dressings accompanied with cold sorbet.
Pretty salad combining many textures, flavours, colours and even different temperatures.
Our first main course was the Char Grilled Tenderloin of Beef. It was served with mashed pumpkin, shallot confits and laced with Béchamel pepper sauce made with butter and flour cooked in milk plus a dash of pepper.
As we did not specify the doneness, our steak was served medium well. Next time, I shall specify that I like my steak medium rare :D
Oven Baked Red Snapper Fillet served with pasta, vegetables and topped with orange ginger reduction.
Grilled Lamb Rack served with vegetables and rosemary juice.
I love this tender juicy lamb with the lovely mutton flavour complemented by nutty bits of walnuts, hazelnuts and pistachios sprinkled on the outside.
Our simple pepperoni pizza was excellent. Rich and flavourful blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese on a crispy chewy homemade crust topped with beef pepperoni salami, olives, and chillis.
Here in Glass restaurant, customers can create their pizza by choosing their favourite toppings.
So cool!
We rounded off our dinner with the sweet Trio of Desserts consisting of tiramisu, strawberry cheese cake and ice cream.
