Rent Traditional Thai Costume Bangkok📍Yak Thai Poshtel Cafe & Studio • Wat Ratchabophit āļ§ัāļ”āļĢāļēāļŠāļšāļžิāļ˜āļŠāļ–ิāļ•āļĄāļŦāļēāļŠีāļĄāļēāļĢāļēāļĄāļĢāļēāļŠāļ§āļĢāļ§ิāļŦāļēāļĢ 📞 +66 91 789 2152

In Bangkok, buddy Chai suggested I try dressing in traditional Thai costume for a photoshoot. He knows a good studio and a good photo spot.

I've seen people do it in Ayutthaya and at Wat Arun temple. Since, I have the opportunity now æĨéƒ―æĨ乆, why not right?

The costume rental is at Yak Thai Poshtel Cafe & Studio at 125 Fuang Nakhon Rd (nearest MRT station is Sam Yot on Blue Line).

The studio is right across the street from Wat Ratchabophit which provides the perfect backdrops for the traditional costume photoshoot.

Ideal location - studio and photo spots are side by side.

Yak Thai provides three services - a boutique hotel, a cafe serving espresso, cocktails & small bites, and a traditional costume rental studio (with photographer services available).

The studio run by Khun Nuey has a good selection of traditional Thai costumes and accessories (both for ladies and gentlemen, of course).

Khun Nuey helped me picked and fitted the traditional Thai costume. I picked a blue costume because I like the colour, cut and also it's like an air force uniform ðŸĪ

Nice exquisite fabric and intricate accessory.

The costumes were fresh, spotlessly clean and free of odour. Nuey said her costumes are cleaned after every use. (Most costume rental places clean the clothes only after a few use to save cost.)

All dressed up, ready to go back to the future of Old Bangkok.

After suiting up, Khun Nuey brought me across the street to Wat Ratchabophit for the photoshoot. The beautiful, historic temple is barely three minutes walk from the studio.

Wat Ratchabophit is a Royal temple built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), and consecrated in 1869 (157 years old today!).

A Royal cemetery is located on the western side of Wat Ratchabophit temple. Some of King Chulalongkorn's close family were buried here.

Entrance to Wat Ratchabophit temple is free and all are welcome but need to dress modestly. Photography is allowed at Wat Ratchabophit at no fees.

Wat Ratchabophit temple is beautiful but not crowded with tourists so photoshoot here is convenient and relaxing 😌  No queuing or rushing for photo spots, no photo bombing.

After the photoshoot at Wat Ratchabophit, I walked the picturesque block around Wat Ratchabophit.

Checked out the street food stalls around the block in a traditional Thai costume 😄

Ate at this stall. The food was delicious and I am writing an article about them.

Different photoshoot packages to suit every need and desire. Hmm... wedding, anniversary, birthday, graduation, etc shoot with a difference. Stay at Yak Thai boutique hotel for a leisurely, relaxing shoot 😌 No crowd, no rush, Royal temple backdrop. Good idea right?

Yak Thai Poshtel Cafe & Studio at Wat Ratchabophit is ideal for your traditional Thai costume photoshoot.
