It is in a busy commercial area, diagonally across the street from Yuen Fatt, the traditional Chinese bakery famous for their mooncake.
The coffee shop was quiet when we got here at noon. It was underrated and not well known yet even among locals.

The first dish looked impressive - a large pan of bee hoon, mee tai mak and kway teow with huge pieces of grouper fish steak in a sloshy watery brown colour sauce.
The grouper fish was very fresh but the soup and noodles were just mildly savoury and a little flat or clean tasting.
However, we enjoyed the fat stubby mee tai mak noodles.
The dishes came in rapid fire succession - the next was their mind blowing delicious ginger fried chicken.
The lightly battered chunks of fresh chicken were golden brown outside while tender and juicy inside. The savoury crisp batter had slightly spicy, quite addictive ginger taste.
This was the most popular dish with our party.
Thai style handmade tofu. Fried tofu cubes with savoury tangy spicy sauce.
Lots of raw onion add a bit of onion type of spiciness in its juicy crunchy peels.
The stir fried sweet potato leaves with lard and lard croutons were delicious. We all love this humble but marvellously tasty dish. Must order.
Fried egg plant with sauce and chicken floss.
I enjoyed this soft-tender juicy inside tender-chewy outside fried battered eggplant. The sauce was sweet savoury tangy with pork floss adding another layer of sweet savouriness.
Curry style prawns in claypot with buns.
Small-medium prawns. Not shelled but the shells were soft, so I can just chew them all up from head to tail. Gentle curry which allowed me appreciate the freshness of the prawns.
I was about to raise my white flag of food coma when this deep fried pork trotter arrived at the table.
Crisp outside, tender moist inside. Would be perfect for a night with beer
We were stuffed and ready to go when someone mentioned they have off menu wild boar dishes. So we couldn't resist ordering one to try 🤭😬
It was lean meat stir fried with a savoury sauce. Everyone was happy that it tasted just like regular domesticated pork - no gamey taste or smell, no fat, all meat.
I mean, everyone except me. Eat wild boar no gamey taste or smell, no fat, eat for what ah...? 🤔
I am still missing the wild boar in Pontian 👈 click 🥹
