Seetoh wanted to try the crispy prawn
Finding the house wasn't hard. Just set WAZE to "No.1, Jalan Keembong 38" and it will take us to the doorstep.
(Update: They have moved to 31, Jalan Teratai 41, Johor Jaya, 81100 Johor Bahru.)
When we asked the gentleman in the house if we could have some fried prawncrackers fritters, he replied "Have you called in to book?"
There was a second of pregnant pause and silence 😑
It was suddenly so quiet, maybe he heard my heart sank. Perhaps, it was our tired and hungry look.
Then, the magic words.
"How many do you want?"
😄😃😀😆
There were two types of prawn fritters available - all prawns only and prawns with chives. The prawn fritters were pre-fried, and finished in hot oil just before serving.
In order not to impose on the stall owners' generosity (as we had not pre-booked), we just ordered one of each type for each of us.
We had 3 pieces of all prawns, and 3 pieces of prawns with chives. Everything here for RM13 (2019 price).
It's a flat batter base completely topped with fresh pinkie size soft shelled white prawns 白蝦. The batter base was just slightly crisp and it was just thick enough to hold all 20 something white prawns together.
The soft shell prawns were soft and moist with subtle natural prawn sweetness. The batter base was tasty - gently savoury sweet, though it was not very crispy like average prawn crackers (i.e. those with less prawns and thinner dough base).
Oops... I forgot to take a closeup shot of the prawns with chives cracker as the all prawns crackers got all my attention. I remember it was slightly crisp and quite doughy.
The prawn fritters are eaten with house made chili sauce which has a sharp spicy hot sting layered with a bit of lime sourness. It made the prawn crackers taste better by heightening the sensitivity of our taste buds to discern the subtle natural sweetness of the white prawns.
Recommended for you 👍 because these are the ultimate prawn fritters for prawn lovers. But please, don't be like Johor Kaki, call ☎ +6013 723 5526 to book before coming. The boss is Tan Chye Ying.

Diana P Tearpock they have perfected the receipe by many trials since they started about 3 years ago. Beginning not many takers but they persisted. Don’t think they let the secret out. Anyway the prawns are fm a kampung far away so exact copy difficult as the prawn shells are bite through type
