Visited a very special place today - Petite Krumbs by Winnie Goh at Amoy Street Food Centre 🍰
In the display cabinet were Winnie's creations of the day.
Every piece was personally hand crafted by master pastry chef Winnie.
I regret that I have only one little tummy 😂
Chef Winnie Goh's amazing baking journey started in 1983 when she learned baking at SHATEC (Singapore Hotel Association Training & Education Centre).
Winnie is a petite dynamo. Winnie's passion took her to the top of many 5 Star hotels in Singapore like Shangri-La, Regent, Pan Pacific, Marriot, InterContinental, etc as executive pastry chef. Meanwhile, she picked up a scholarship earning her a Masters degree in confectioneries and baking from Germany's Handwerkskammer zu Köln (Colonge).
Winnie retired at 64 but the fire for baking still burns in her. So, she started Petite Krumbs, a hawker centre stall at the popular Amoy Street Food Centre.
This is great news for cake and pastry lovers as Winnie's 5 Star hotel quality bakes at hawker centre prices are over value treats.
Part of our loot today 🤭
The flaky, many layered puff pastry cup was exquisite, its subtle refined crispness exults the finesse of Winnie's craftsmanship.
The filling was a delightful surprise of layers of mochi, yam and egg.
Must get this special egg tart when you are at Petite Krumbs.
Lemon mochi tart. The zest of lemon curd balanced with mild sweetness of soft spongy chewy mochi in a buttery crumbly tart shell.
Yam mochi tart.
Caramel nutty tart, I love it as I am nuts about nuts 🤭😂 There were cashew, almond, cranberry, etc coated with caramelised sugar and butter.
Kueh lapis. Eggy buttery neither overly sweet nor greasy. Soft spongy, fresh tasting, I love it. Not laced with preservatives.
Almond croissant.
Whisky fruit cake. Fruity, nutty, buttery, gentle sweetness. Nice!
Winnie didn't say this herself but I see Petite Krumbs as Winnie's way of giving back to the community. To us it is a blessing which we gratefully receive with many thanks. Will definitely be back for more 🥐

Winnie is great! Been buying from her since she first set up in Toa Payoh. She even made my wedding cake. So glad to learn she's still at it!
