The Toast at Permas Jaya Johor Bahru JB 土司坊

There is a place in Johor Bahru where I like to hang out - take a break where the food and drinks are nice, prices are more than reasonable, the ambiance is pleasant and the service is earnest, even if the staff are mostly new.

I come to The Toast 土司坊 because I love the experience, the place and I just order two things - the egg mayo toast and a kopi C kosong (traditional Nanyang coffee sweetened with evaporated milk without sugar).

Kopi C Kosong at RM2.60+. Nice bitter sweetness with good body. Par with the better traditional Nanyang kopitiam coffee at just a slight price premium.

The Toast's famous egg mayo toast. Rich scrambled eggs and creamy mayo slathered generously on a thick slice of lightly toasted white bread (RM3.40+).

Besides coffee and toast, The Toast has an extensive menu of familiar local favourites like mee siam, kampung fried rice, nasi lemak, fried chicken etc just like any good kopitiam.

Every time I am here, there are lots of people enjoying the food and place at The Toast. I like the lofty high ceiling, huge bright windows and galaxy of hanging lights here. The warm bronze and wood colours give the place a nice rustic, welcoming feel. The sturdy wood furniture is very comfortable too.

    1. Hi Lily, it's a standalone building. There is another cafe in the same building. No shopping here :-D
