VCH Vichy Catalan Natural Sparkling Mineral Water TDS 2900 from Spain

Starting my day with a 500ml bottle of Vichy Catalan mineral water.

Small and light enough to take one or two bottles with me everywhere I go 😁 It's a plastic bottle, so I have no worries about breakage carrying it around in my haversack.

When you unscrew the cap, a burst of fizzy bubbles clear as crystals rush to the top.

The clear water has a slight fizz on the tongue. There's subtle body, mineral taste, very gentle briny sweet flavour. There is no smell.

I enjoyed drinking this. I drank this many times before both cold and at ambient temperature. It's one of the sparkling mineral waters I like.

The label doesn't say anything about its mineral contents except that it is natural mineral water and carbonated.

Thanks to Google translate.

A check on the Vichy Catalan homepage revealed that its source is a thermal spring in Caldes de Malavella, Girona, Catalunya in Spain discovered by Dr Modest Furest i Roca in 1881. Girona is in southeast Spain near the border with France.

Vichy Catalan mineral water scores a high TDS 2900 mg/l (total dissolved solids) mostly of sodium and bicarbonate (which explains its salty taste and fizziness).

It is said to have 27 out of 34 minerals our body needs. The water is naturally carbonated with its own gas. There is no sugar at all in this water.

Vichy Catalan mineral water is said to be good for heart health 💛

Best served very cold but I also enjoy Vichy Catalan everywhere, including in hawker centres at ambient temperature.
