East Treasure Woodlands Review 東寶

Went to East Treasure in Woodlands for a simple meal in a comfortable environment.

Restaurant name: East Treasure Chinese Restaurant 東寶 Woods Square

Address: 6 Woodlands Square, #01-07 Woods Square, Singapore 737737

It met all our expectations and we would be back, if we want something similar - a moderate price range tasty Chinese dinner in a nice and accessible, no frills place.

We had half a roast duck. It was chopped into large chunks.

The marinade infused the tender moist meat with robust savoury flavours. The skin was roasted to a well browned crisp. However, it lacked the warm gamey duck fat beneath the skin which I like in my roast ducks.

I wanted coffee pork ribs but they only have coffee chicken. The coffee marinated chicken had a sweetened coffee taste and smell. The chicken was a little dry and tender chewy. Everyone like it but I still think this dish would be better with pork ribs which are more soft tender and juicier due to the fat.

The chai poh omelette was thick like a fat pan cake and filled with shredded chicken and preserved radish.

The egg pancake was bouncy and moist, not greasy. It tasted alright - savoury eggy sweet with homely comforting feel and flavours.

The fried tofu with fried minced pork topping was nice. The browned outside was lightly crisped while the inside was moist and soft like soy bean custard. The little bit of fried minced pork added savoury sweetness to the familiar dish.

The hor fun felt and tastes very familiar, reminiscent of East Treasure's kopitiam days at Unique Pot.

The rice noodles and sauce had that coveted toasty wok hei taste. There were toppings of chewy crisp deep fried flat rice noodles. This signature from Unique Pot is still winning fans at East Treasure.

Our total bill came to under $150 with all taxes, fees and drinks includes.
