The annual Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico's defeat of France in the Battle of Puebla on 5th May 1862. It is celebrated by Mexican communities around the world.
Lucha Loco has been here for over a decade, conveniently located just ten minutes walk from Maxwell MRT station.
It's an accessible yet slightly exclusive enclave away from the main strip (Tanjong Pagar Road).
There is an indoor air con section, nice and cool with an attached bar serving lots of cocktails and iconic Mexican liquor like tequilas and mezcals.

The roasted suckling pig skin was thin and crisp while the meat was moist, soft tender. It was rich with natural porky sweetness which I enjoyed. The slaw, habanero salsa and onion salsa added juicy crunch, zest, and sweetness to every bite 😋
I took home the little suckling pig heads. So good for fried bee hoon 😋
SMOKED WAGYU BEEF $12++
Mind blowing beefy sweet savoury smokey smoked soft tender juicy wagyu brisket complemented by a fiesta of flavours from slaw, chipotle mayo, BBQ sauce, jalapeño, pico de gallo, etc.
MAIZ $10++
Had so much meat, so baby corn, jalapeño relish, chipotle mayo, lettuce, and coriander for a balanced meal 🤭
MUSHROOM QUESADILLA $16++
Three types of mushrooms, jalapeño mint mayo, cotija (cheese), etc folded into a ten inch flour tortilla.

Beating the pinata horse, the grand finale of the celebration.
Traditionally, the pinata is a seven pointed star representing the seven deadly sins to be smashed before sweets burst from the star.
The seven deadly sins are lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride ❓/7 😱
Enjoyed ourselves a lot at Lucha Loco. Nice place, good food, even better company.
