You know right? You might have heard people say that KFC in Malaysia tastes better than KFC in Singapore. I don't know lah.... I haven't tasted KFC in Singapore for decades. And, the only way to know for sure is to do a blind test of both Malaysia and Singapore KFC together. I am not going to do that now 😂

Disclaimer: This post is my own initiative and has no input from KFC in any way.

But, I know many people who are die hard KFC fans who must have KFC when they are in Malaysia. So, if you die, die must have KFC in Malaysia, then why not have it in style right? How about checking out the KFC outlet at Jalan Ibrahim Sultan at Stulang Laut facing the Johor Straits?

KFC chicken is tender and juicy inside. It tastes just mildly savoury salty and sweet but there is hardly any natural "chicky" flavour.

How juicy? My finger was wet with dripping juice.

The golden brown skin is soft and moist but still has some crispness from the fried batter. It is greasy, tastes slightly savoury salty, and again there is hardly any natural "chicky" flavour.

I didn't like the bun that comes with the fried chicken as it has quite pronounced taste and smell of flavoured essence.

I don't really like KFC because I like my chicken to have more natural "chicky" flavour. But, I have many friends who are KFC fans. So, if I am asked to bring friends to a KFC in JB, the outlet at Stulang Laut would be my first choice.

The KFC outlet is opened round-the-clock (24-hours) and conveniently located along Jalan Ibrahim Sultan which is just 5 minutes drive from the JB CIQ (or less than RM10 by taxi). Free parking is plentiful inside the compound.

Inside, it's the familiar orderly, bright, neat and clean KFC layout.

Furnishings are "classroom" style but comfortable.

There is a playroom for families with children.

And, there is more.

Stepping upstairs, there is a small dining area with full length windows on three sides. The sun rays stream in, so there is a slight green house effect. Still, the air conditioner works well, so it is comfortable here.

From here, we can get a view of the Johor Straits with Singapore and the red and white chimneys of Senoko Power Station on the other side.

On one side, we can see Foon Yew High School and Berjaya Hotel in the background.

When the sun is not blazing like during sunrise, sunset and at night, eating fried chicken under these red canopies is very comfortable as there is a constant sea breeze. It's a special sort of pleasure to watch the rippling waves, smell the sea spray, hear the wind and lapping waves as they caress the rocks below our feet.

👉 When you come to JB, don't just go eat KFC lah..... But, if you must, then get it at the KFC at Stulang Laut.

I firmly believe that taste is subjective and so, warmly welcome differing viewpoints as it makes this blog better :-D But, I disapprove negative comments that are anonymous or hide behind fake identities. I feel that that is unethical in the same way as speaking ill of others behind their backs. I look forward to all your comments :-D Thank you. (Date: 18 Dec 2015)
