So many good memories here at Puteri Pacific Hotel in the heart of downtown Johor Bahru. The iconic hotel is closed effective from 30 Aug 2020. There was no official word on the reason for the closure but it followed suspension of operations since Mar 2020 with the shutting of Malaysia's borders due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Many people in Singapore and Johor Bahru are sad to see it go as we have spent much good times here with friends and family. Thanks to all staff for the memories.

If you are shopping in City Square Mall in JB, there is a good Weekend Hi Tea buffet at The Puteri Pacific Johor Bahru which is just 10 minutes' slow walk from the mall (across Jalan Wong Ah Fook and Jalan Trus). The buffet spread has a good range of local and international dishes, and the comfortable setting is ideal for chilling out from noon till afternoon :-D
The Weekend Hi Tea buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 4:30pm.
Prices are RM55+ for adults and RM22+ for children. There is no service charge :-D
Puteri Cafe is perfect for a leisurely weekend lunch with the family as this is a very family friendly place. The range and variety of food is extensive, so there is sure to be something for everyone.
There is the popular pasta live station where we can get our order of pasta cooked a la minute.
My simple mushroom and tomato aglio olio. My favourite way of eating spaghetti.
Lamb and cheese lovers will love this unique mutton lasagna.
The roast beef station.
I love this juicy beefy roast beef (done medium rare) so much that I went for this three times. (Nowadays, at buffets I usually just settle down with my comfort foods even though there is a wide variety on offer ;-D )
Of course, there is plenty of perennial local favourites too.
Beef and chicken satay.
Cereal prawns.
Curry chicken. There is also curry mutton.
Sea bass in a savoury sweet sauce.
I love this sweet soft pumpkin cooked in lightly spiced coconut milk curry.
There is a small selection of Halal dim sum. (Puteri Pacific's Kai Xuan restaurant is popular for its Halal dim sum.)
This is a Hi Tea, so expect lots of sweets and desserts :-D
There were so many pretty cakes to choose from, I couldn't try them all - just took some pictures to show you :-D
There is a waffle live station.
Children will be delighted with waffles with Puteri Cafe's house made ice cream and a drizzle of honey.
Finally, round up the sumptuous and scrumptious lunch with fresh fruits and coffee or tea.
Puteri Cafe Weekend Hi Tea is a good alternative to mall food where everyone can enjoy good food to their heart's content in a cosy setting at a reasonable price.
